Subject : lets not forget

just a post for rememberance day.............

my thoughts are with the serving soldiers and the soldiers who served us at one of the most difficult times

My husband was a serving soldier,2 tours of iraq and 1 of kosovo, hes away today in edinburgh marching with his beloved blackwatch and in memory of my grandad who had 22 medals in total from WW2

They shall not grow old as we who are left grow old. Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them.

In rememberence of the brave Men & Women who endured so much in such hard times. May they rest in peace

In Flanders field the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

My thoughts today are with the soldiers we have lost and their families as well as the soldiers who are away from their families fighting for us. I am wishing each of them to be safely home soon x

This has moved me to tears, it's so beautiful.

I'll be thinking of everyone who has family and friends on active service, and praying they come home safely. xx

Such a lovely post Grudie.

It's been an emotional day in our house today. My husband is a serving soldier and came back in May from a 6 month tour in Iraq, thankfully the LAST tour of Iraq!!

My Uncle came back from Afghanistan last month and is suffering with Post Traumatic Stress after he was the only survivor in the Landrover that was hit by a roadside bomb. Thankfully he's doing really well and out of hospital now. We have his medal parade next month so i'm sure that will be one heck of a day!!

So so so proud of every soldier (and their families too ;) ) past, present and future xx

lovely post grudie made me cry.

My cousin done a tour in Iraq & was/is due to be deployed to Afghanistan hopefully not they keep changing it so pray he does not go.

They are all so very brave. Ross kemps in afghanistan really opened my eyes to what our boys have to endure we should all be so so proud of each & every one & of course not forgetting those who fought in wars gone by RIP.
