well done hon...you have been a busy bee!! lol

I had to read up what to do with the sqaush...you just peel it, take out the seeds (similar to the inside of a melon) and cut into pieces and you can steam it like the other veggies. My little man loves it!
Hope Summer enjoys all her mummy's wonderful home cooking!!

Ah bless him!! Did you try him on veg first and then fruit? I'm not sure what to do with lo yet. May just go with the flow?

I'm hoping she likes at least half of what I've made as it took me a blimmin' long time to make it all!!

She tried a little parsnip on my finger and liked it, so that will be what she has tommorrow.

Am very excited as so far all she had had is baby rice for 2 days and banana porridge for 2 days.

Soooooo tired now though, but a bit over-tired i think as cant get to sleep!!

Yes OTM thanks for the info - will do that tommorrow.

I think I will go with the flow too. I have been giving her the same thing for 2 days to just check if there is any reaction or not/bowel probs.

I liked it all (of course I Had a little test) but didn't like th pear at all - the texture was a bit 'bitty' of that makes sense. Loved the apply though - that will definately be a 'one for Summer, one for mummy' I think!!

No worries ladies...glad to be able to help. I didn't have a clue when I bought one the other week so as I had to read up on the internet! As you can probably tell....Joshy has eaten more veggies than me and my hubby now! lol

As SPF said, just go with the flow hon and I'm sure you will work it out with Summer.
I'd been told so many things about giving them veggies only at first and not introducing fruit until the veggies were well established but I thought what the heck and from the off, I gave him 2 cubes of veggies followed by 1 cube of fruit and tried different veggies everyday and he's eaten the whole lot!! Wasn't that great with swede but I tasted it and think it was just a bad swede so will throw it all away. Joshy is up to 3 meals a day now and is eating 3 cubes of veggies and 1 cube of fruit for 2 meals and porride for breakfast and lumps of banana that we give him to enourage a little chewing and to feed himself - it's so great watching him eat and his little facial expressions!
Can't wait to hear how Summer gets on with her new tastes. It is exciting isn't it?!

Ah bless him!! Sounds like he well and truly loves his food.

Yes its so exciting, watching them try new foods, I love her little mouth they way she tries to work out how to get the food to the back of her mouth to swallow, she looks all confused and then happy when she manages it!! But she is very good and rarely spits stuff out (well, it is only day 4!!)

Once we are on to bigger portions I think I'll try her on a veg first and then some fruit.

xx

Wow, you have been busy! I'm sure Summer will appreciate her mummy's culinary efforts and will gobble them all up!
Re: butternut squash, the easiest way to do it is to cut it in half, scoop the seeds out and roast it in the oven. Then you can scoop the flesh out with a spoon once it's soft and puree it. You can peel it and cube it but I found it's a bit of a b*&%er to peel without slicing your fingers off!! xxx

Good question Bon, I'd like to know too. Grace has dropped her dream feed but is still having 28oz over 4 bottles and eats 2 tablespoons of porridge for brekkie and a tommee tippee pot full of veg puree for lunch and tea. I'm scared I'm overfeeding her, although she stops when she's had enough sometimes xx

I don't know what the professionals say, but I dropped the bottle once the meal was about 200ml total of liquid, with the puree and rice or whatever added to that. And when LO would let me of course, in the sense that he had worked out that it filled him up just as milk did! Once I had that meal substituted, which was lunch in his case, I moved on to slowly adding the evening meal, and then substituted the mid-morning feed for fruit or yoghurt. So at that point he had milk for breakfast, then fruit an hour or two later, then lunch, nap, milk when he woke up from his nap, then dinner. He wasn't interested in milk before bed quite quickly, although I think most babies keep their last feed for quite a while - so maybe if they enjoy the last bottle of milk you could look to substitute the mid-afternoon feed with fruit or yoghurt instead.

Like I said, that's just the way I did it, I'm sure there are many methods, but mostly your LO will let you know.. when they stop yelling for milk after their proper food!
