Subject : 'You'll just know'(when your in labour)

How annoying is that saying!!! What do you ladies think of this:

I'm 38+4 and keep getting twinges but sharp ones - thinking it may be braxton hicks as I've not had any. Well I don't know what BH are so if i have had them i wouldn't know! Yesterday I was sick (but I did 'treat' myself to a Frigg milkshake and fruit gums which prob wasn't the best combination) For the first time yesterday I went to sleep during the day as was feling rough I've not slept in the day for the whole pregnancy. Today I've been having pain in my groin - where my leg joins my body and today when I wiped I had what I can only decribe as a bogey lol. I know this isn't labour or anything but I could really get excitied about little things put two and two together and get five.

I'm 'oowing' with the twinges and I've got a high pain threshhold and with every little thing my partner is asking if i am going into labour but I feel guilty when I have to say 'I don't know' I feel so silly. What if i was in early labour but didn't realise? I guess when my time comes 'I'll just know'

Sorry just having a bit of a rant!

Totally agree with you there!!
I Oooh and Ahhh with quite a lot of my twinges as theyre just a bit 'too' sharpe and I get backaches simillar to what my period pain used to be like and really throbbing tightenings that start off ok and then like build up into a crescendo, BUT it's just not enough to say - OH I am definately in labour!!
dh is always asking and I have to admit I have snapped back at him a few times saying I have NO IDEA, like HOW am I supposed to know lol!!

It's so annoying but I guess we will just know Grrr

I agree with you both girls!! I am sitting here praying that every little twinge turns into a bigger pain and then gutted when they go away.

I have been getting BH for a while, had some tonight and wonder if they're worse than what I've had before, but they're not its just wishful thinking!!

I've had a bit of a niggle in my left side since about 4pm, but it's only what I can describe as a stitch and cant imagine labour starting in your side. May be things just starting to get themselves ready..I bloody hope so!

I keep getting texts and FB messages from people asking if anything's happening, just wish I had something positive to go back and say to them!!

I have never wanted to be in pain so much in my life...I'll probably retract that when it actually starts!!

Glad you are feeling the same as me anyway, do you find yourselves saying to your o/h's things like "well we might be in hospital this time tomorrow" etc? I think he's sick of me now!!

Here's hoping it's not too much longer girls!

Same same for me. A few "could be" signs but nothing drastic to make me think anything is REALLY happening. And it's hubby who keeps going on ... bless. He is just excited (ahem.. impatient)!! He even walked past me earlier and shook my bump Mad !

I didnt know I was having BH either until my mw pointed it out to me a couple of weeks back. So Ive kind of convinced that I will go into labour and not realise ... yeah right! Even after my curry tonight Brody is relatively quiet in there which is unlike him, especially after all the spices. Last time I had one he went ape!

In a funny way, Im actually liking this not knowing business! My only qualm is thinking the longer I go without anything really happening, the closer I get to having to have intervention to make things happen, which I really DONT want ..but trying not to get too ahead of myself there.

Ah well.. off to catch some zzzzzzz's. Early start tomorrow.
Night night xx

Don't tell my husband about that button - he hasn't thought of that one yet!
Its the same as breaking a bone, everyone says you will just know but unless you've done it before then how do you know? Clearblue should invent a test - they'd make a fortune from us!

Yes, keep that baby ejector button hush hush please. Ive lost count today how many times hubby has asked today "When's Brody coming?" - even again just now. Even his mum called up this morn asking where her grandchild was!! He gets his impatience from her.

It's a bit like sitting in the car on a road trip... "are we there yet??"

Clearblue should invent a test!! Or maybe that would be a bad bad thing, being a POAS addict myself!

I have an impatient hubby too! He keeps talking to my bump and telling him to come so he doesnt have to go on a course on wednesday!
But I think he's got used to idea that baby gonna be late so is counting down to induction day LOL!

I have no idea what labour will feel like bar expecting it to hurt! But after being uncomfy permanently and having twinges etc I may miss the early signs!

Thats the thing I said when i called that I was calling because I just needed some guidance because I have no idea if its contractions or not and she said 'well your still talking'. If i leave it till i cant talk theres no way my partner will get back from central london in time. All she had to say is it could be labour but very early stages so that then he would have not gone to work. no one has answers to anything!

G/C A friend of mine had two false labour trips to the hospital with her third - so experience doesn't always help!!
