Subject : Rude people?
Has anyone else had any rude comments?
today oh and i went into a large town and within minutes of being out i had shop assistant tell me i should avoid the beach ball up the top look.
The next shop i got i love your bump but should you be shopping so heavily pregnant?
I also got several random people ask if its twins or more?
Another shop assistant asked if it was my first, to which i replied no-she asked how old my other child was and said o was there nothing on tv the night you had an accident!?!?
wtf???

Do you have 'insult me' written on your forehead or something? Jesus I cannot believe how many people have been that rude to you! I have had the odd comment, mainly people saying things about my bump being big, how much have you been eating, how on earth are you only x weeks etc but nothing like that!!
You should tell them all to piss off and mind their own business! Grrr people annoy me!

Oh yes hunnie, these people just seem to pop up out of nowhere when you are pregnant.
I had a comment the other day from a women who said " havent you got a tv?" I mean come on, like its her bloody business anyway if I am pregnant or not!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So unfortunatly its something we have to put up with especially us ladies with large familys, I get it one comment or another probably everyday......I am quietly telling myself not to be rude and make a sarky comment back at them while in my head thinking p**s off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've not really had any so far just the odd have you not learnt how it happens yet etc. Although this is only my 2nd and there will be a 26 month gap btw the two which doesn't seem particularly small to me.
I don't understand why people suddenly feel they have the right to make insulting, rude remarks purely because you're pregnant.

We had the tv thing loads of times. I also got a friend asking when we were getting sky??? My response to them now is that i cant help it it my OH finds me wildly attractive and we are at it all the time!! That usually shuts them up coz you can bet that they dont get any at home!!
What anoys me is that no one comments when you are having your 2nd, its only coz we are bucking the 2.4 kids and having 3. People, especially my family and friends, cant deal with that!!
My MIL even asked me if we were being careful, how this accident happened??? Dont know where whe got the careful bit, but i looked at her straight and said this baby was planned!!
Rude, Rude, Rude!!!

I think the comment that really, really, really winds me up is "was it planned?" not only is that incredibly rude, nosey and inconsiderate but for goodness sake what bussiness is it of theres anyway?
My family all seemed fit to ask it and in the end I lost the plot for a while and just snapped at anyone asking anything about this baby.
so bloody what, I am 29 yrs old and on no'4, I am bloody proud to be a mum of nearly 4.
I dont have benifits, live in council housing, have any form of loan, overdraft or anything so why do they feel the need to ask...does it matter? (no offence to those who do have council homes etc, i didnt mean it in a bad sence for those of you that are genuin people!)I dont have a child minder, baby sitter, family help, hubby and I do everything on our own. Stuff the lot of them.
ggrrrr, ok babs gets off her soap box........I really should stop replying to these kind of posts as my blood pressure goes through the roof lol!!!!!!
27+1 BABY NO'4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i'm shocked!! i haven't had anything that bad, i've been told at work that i "waddle", I've been asked if the baby is turning my hair grey because I haven't dyed my hair since i became pregnant, I've been asked many many times if there are twins in there by people who know damn well there aren't and just like to comment on how big you are, the till op at sainsburys commented that I "must not have long to go now" to which i pointed out that actually i have and a till op in Next also commented how big i was but was quite nice and said that she had been the same and told me of the benefits of bio oil??!!
I'm not easily offended by any stretch, the whole thing about me being big (little girl is all out the front so even i can admit from the side im pretty big) gets really tedious but I would have absolutely kicked off had i recieved some of the comments you ladies have recieved, no one would dare make the TV comment to me, how bloody rude!!!!

The comments all seem to be aimed towards people on their second or more. Why can't people mind their own business and stop being so rude?? What difference does it make to anyone if you have 1,2 or 15 children?

I can't belive anyone would actually imply that your babies were accidents!! That is the rudest thing I have ever heard!
Also the whole 'was it planned' comment. I'll admit to wondering this when I have found out friends/colleagues were pregnant, but I have never, ever voiced the question!
Lol at gemm - I bet people don't know what to say to that! :)

My bio father was the worst one with my dd when we told him we were expecting it was just before christmas he actually gave my partner condoms for christmas and offered to pay for him to join blockbuster for something better to do!
This time he had bloody egg on his face as his gf fell pregnant by accident,he is almost 50 and she is almost 40 and i will add even though he is a total prick-my oh and i are the only family members who have made any attempts to support them.

I get quite a lot of rude comments at work. I get called 'fatty' and 'tubs' and told constantly how big my bump looks. 'It seems to be growing overnight', they keep saying. I don't know if I am being extra sensitive at the moment but it really irritates me when people comment on my bump size. My cousin told me I'd be 'massive' by Xmas. Another woman at work felt my stomach (she didn't ask first) and said 'ooh i expected it to feel hard. yours feels soft, that's weird. Are you sure everything's ok'. I mean, what sort of thing is that to say!?
Okay rant over!! apart from that, everyone's been lovely

People just don't think do they.
I ran into an old school friend who asked me in front of my children, "good grief, they can't be all with the same man?"
My manager was pretty rude too, when I told her I was pregnant she replied "really, what is that you do when you leave work?, clearly you are a gluten for punishment" and has since made remarks about how my dh needs the snip, or how I need to put that man on a leash.
I have had too many of the tv, ect comments, and all I can do is remember moments like right now, where my children are happy and healthy and loving every minute together. If you'd call me having a cuppa, while Nym, with a soup pot on her head, paper towel tube in hand, chases her two big sisters like the little battle princess she is, and is more than delighted when her sisters shriek and laugh as she pokes them with the cardboard tube, and they run away again.
I do not understand those people who can not see, do not want these precious wonderful moments. I have never laughed as hard or cried with such real empathy as with my babies. Hold on to that, and hope that one day, just maybe these poor people will be blessed with the realization of just how much wonderfulness there is in what they are condemning.
xx
