Subject : Baby movements at 29 weeks +
Hi ladies, I just wanted peoples experiences on this.
Im 29+4 weeks with baby no.2 with and anterior placenta. When pregnant with DD who is now 2 I remember having lots of kicks and strong ones too. With this baby however, the kicks are just over the 10 a day mark sometimes and not always very strong. I will have days where Im being kicked and punched like he's going mad and other days where I'll prod and poke bump till I get a response. I have a doppler so when I feel like he hasn't moved much I'll search for the heart beat and I do find it, although sometimes it's difficult due to my placenta going across the middle of my bump and he always seems to be hiding just underneath it. What are everyone elses movements like. I worry so much more this time around, I think it's because I know more. even the tricks of cold, sweet or baths don't make him move and I'll sit worrying and wondering whether to call the hospital to go in and get monitored, but when I find a hb I don't feel like I should go wasting their time.

Hi,
Didn't want to R&R but not sure I can be much help. I'm 30+1 and bubs has quiet days and busy days, but it's my first and I have nothing to compare it to.
The only advice I can offer is if you're worried, go and get checked out. If it stops you worrying you haven't wasted their time - it's exactly what they're there for. I wouldn't hesitate if I was worried.

Hi Gem, I'm 27+6 and also have an anterior placenta, I asked a similar question a couple of weeks ago as I hardly felt any movement, lots of people said it was because of the position of the placenta and because of how baby is lying. In the last week or so I have felt baby much more but still not very hard, a lot of the time the movements are still like flutters. Also nothing seems to make baby move (choc, orange juice, coke etc), it just does it when it wants to!!!
Sorry not to be more helpful!

Hi Gem's im 29 weeks with an anterior placenta and i have the same problem, i went for over 24 hours without movement and really got worried. We went up to the mat assess unit and they done a trace, she found the heartbeat no problem, and the baby was just cushioned behind the placenta. They did say if i was ever worried just give them a call and pop up, better to be on the safe side
