Subject : When do we need to start thinking about Maternity clothes?
Probably a strange question .... but..... am having to give it some thought as we go away on hols over Christmas. All being well, I will be 13 weeks when we go, and 17 weeks when we come back - will I need maternity by then?
I already have a bigger tum-tum, and have put off even thinking about holiday packing because of my dilema. Already some of my more snug clothes (i.e. I had to be having a thin day to even think about getting in them) are now too tight!
I don't want to tempt fate and get a load of maternity stuff and/or then look like I am wearing a tent

it's a tough one isn't it
all my tops still fit (but i've been wearing loose things for comfort anyway)
but most of my jeans have always been a v close fit so only one pair is still wearable - my really loose boyfriend jeans - in fact i think i'll probably be able to wear them under-the-bump all the way through pregnancy!
so for me first purchase will be jeans as soon as i start to show and have an excuse
is this your first baby MrsD? apparently you show later with your first than subsequent children - but i think it depends on each person
you could just take loose clothes like wrap-dresses on holiday "just in case"

I am currently wearing some maternity jeans with the stretchy sides where pockets usually go... I find these really comfy in early pregnancy but rubbish in later pregnancy... so Id recommend these for now... as for tops Im finding alot of the smock tops are great and lovely and lose without making it look like Im wearing a tent... Im only 8+4 but this is my second baby and Ive got a right podge on me!

I think with this baby I will be in maternity clothes for the first time ever. Someone asked me if I was pg round at the school the other day and I was quite surprised coz I just thought i looked tubby! Will have to get a 'bump pic' sorted. I have always just got bigger size clothes with my boys but dont think thats gonna work this time! xx

That was the same as me with my last pg junie, I was a perfect 12 b4 I got pg and managed to get away with size 14s but didnt need them really until I was about 20 wks and I just picked clothes that fitted my bump, I had lots of stretch tops.
Iv just had a look at the clothes my sister has given me and cant wait to start showing so I can start wearing them :)

Yey! Its exciting isnt it? I have got a pair of 'under bump' maternity jeans that I have had since DS1 but yet never worn. I took them out the other day and felt a little excited!! Eeek! xx
