Subject : mmr side effects?
millie (14months) had hers yesterday and that night she woke at 2am wanting a cuddle and wouldnt settle back to sleep wouldnt let me put her down then when i laid her down i noticed her body kept jumping this went on for quite a while and she was getting mad becos she was so tired and couldnt sleep i chucked my oh out of bed and put her in it and then she tried to sleep through it but i could still see it jumping it must have gone on for over an hour then it stopped. she doesnt seem to of had any other symptoms and has been fine 2day didnt get up til 10.30am bless and been hyper as usual all day and been eating alot as usual and had a good nap she went to bed at 8pm and havent heard anything from her yet i gave her calpol this time b4 bed just incase i didnt realise this vaccine was alot worse than the others shes had and has alot more side effects i wondered why the doc asked me if i wanted any calpol for her as she'd always been fine after all her jabs b4. i just hope she'll be ok from now on :)

I've not heard of that one but I guess it could just be a side effect of the jab, maybe phone your doctor, or NHS direct to check if you are worried. I think there are more potential side effects with the MMR simply because it is 3 seperate things they are protecting against, doesn't automatically mean they are going to react any worse than with the others though. Barney was really grumpy and off colour for a few days after his 12 month jabs, but had absolutely no reaction to the MMR at all. Hope she has a better night tonight for you, comes as a shock when you aren't used to them being up at night doesn't it!!

That jumpy think may just be a coincidence as well as a side effect as I'm sure I read that mmr side effects take about 3 days to show up. Also Oscar had that jumpy thing about a month ago when he was 11 months, so definitely not a side effect of any injections. He also really struggled to sleep with it and kept getting his feet stuck in the cot bars which he's never done before or since. I think it lasted 2 or 3 days before he was back to normal.
Hopefully it was just coincidence and that you had a better night xx

Chloe had a reaction to her's. She came in a rash head to toe, was very scary as spread quick and didn't disappear when ran a glass over it. got sent to A&E to have her checked over and they said she already had a virus in her system and the jab had knocked her immune system and brought the virus out quicker and perhaps worse than would have done if she hadn't had the mmr at that point. it's now on record for when the next one comes up and as she had a reaction within hrs and not days they said they may do it in hospital next time just in case it wasn't what they thought.
I hope Millie is feeling better. It's scary isn't it??!! Sure she will be just fine!! Chloe also had little reaction to the other ones.

James had a reaction to where they put the needle , it went in to a muscle and his leg swelt up and was bright red and rock hard also red hot and after 3 days it was getting worse then started oozing yellow stuff , i rang nhs direct and they said to take him to A&E as it sounded like he had got an absess from the needle and he ha.d They had to open it and drain it and give him antibiotics but he was fine after that but at the time he was very very grumpy and unsettled.
Hope she is feeling better today bless her.

JJ used to jump just as you described if he was too hot...maybe she had a slight temp which caused the jumping? i can't comment on side effects cuz he didn't have any but we were told to watch out for them 7-10 days after...he was no different at all a week later but he was dosed up on calpol anyway and we were too busy having his head stuck back together to notice i suppose lol x

I'm watching this thread with great interest too as my lil man had his mmr on friday, and poor lil guy got a cold same day, so is snotty and coughing but pretty sure this is separate not a side effect, just hoping we've all got the babies who show no adverse side effects! x
