That was a very negative appointment, did they not talk to you about your options? I haven't had my bloods done yet but those who have seem to get more constructive feedback. Hope your ok xx

FSH

Hiya Suerig, I agree with socks, whoever told you this sounds very unhelpful and insensitive. My FSH levels were ok but I'm having IVF due to my husband's low sperm quality. There are plenty of people going through IVF with similar FSH levels, many of whom have fallen pregnant. Can I ask how old you are and whether it was your GP or a fertility consultant who said this to you? If it was your GP I would demand to be referred to a specialist fertility clinic.
Some ladies have also had success in reducing their FSH by taking a steroid called DHEA but I don't know much about it I'm afraid.
It would be worth getting your AMH levels tested as these are considered to be a more reliable measure of ovarian reserve, basically giving a good indication of how long your ovaries have left.
Good luck and don't give up hope xx

Ignore whoever said that to you!!!

Your FSH is slightly high, so you have to be braced that it could mean you have a low ovarian reserve and that, if you got to IVF, you might not respond as well as some ladies, but I have an FSH off 11, have had two IVF cycles and produced 2 grade one embryos in each cycle. Some clinics won't treat you if your FSH is over 10 but there are many that will and they have great success rates. If you're at a clinic who won't treat you at that FSH move on and find one that will.

Just shout if you want to know any more and lots of luck.
