Subject : my birth story.
Hallie Sam Phoenix - 03/11/09.
19 hours of labour dilated to 10cm, i only had gas nd air up untill 7cm which was 10 hours into labour, i then had diamorphine which was amazing till it weard off. i then had an epidural which numbed everywhere apart from my left hand side. so i had to have another tot up of it which then didnt numb my right side. so they give me another one and i was completely numb. i then reached 10cm an all of a sudden my belly just went completly flat at the bottom. i had bandl's ring. so i got taken for an emergency c-section, they gave me another top up of epidural. i got all ready then i could feel EVERYTHING, the consultants were just ignoring me, even though i was screaming. so my step mum shouted stop, they then said can u feel this and pulled it was horrible. i then had general anesthetic which knocked me out. after an hour i came around, asking for my baby. they wouldnt tell me what she weighed, what time she was born or anything up untill about 10 mins after in which i was taken to the ward where my baby and family came. skipping a bit the next day the consultant came to see me and told me while i was under general anesthetic they had drained cysts which were in my oright ovary. i had 2 big one's and 7 small one's they said they'd never seen anything like it. BUT IT TOOK THEM A DAY TO TELL ME!
so basically ive had 2 operations in one. so im in double the pain, i feel like i cannot do anything. it takes me ages to get up, my stomach really hurts, my scar hurts to. i just feel absolutly terrible and in pain 24/7. my boyfriend has basically done everything, hes been amazing.
she weighed 8lb 14oz the big chunk, shes absolutly brilliant and loves her sleep. :)
im so lucky to have her, shes gorgeous.
i hope no one experiences anything in which i did. x

Sorry you had a difficult time, glad you had your Mum with you to stand up for you. There seems to be a massive difference in nhs care and maybe when you're well and have the energy you should write to the hospital PALS team so they can improve on their level of communication skills.
Sounds like you have a healthy baby, congratulations and all the best xx
