A friend has offered us a travel cot, should we buy a new mattress for it?

Travel cot mattresses are quite thin and 'stuck down' so hard to get fitted sheets around. You can buy a proper travel cot mattress which is nicer and more comfy. I got one just last week from the Cot Mattress Company for £16.99 and I'm really pleased with it. We use our travel cot (2nd hand from my sister) for daytime naps and as a playpen. Vicky x

Hi you can get mattresses for travel cots from mothercare. they go on top of the base mattress - the playpen floor. Does that make sense? They are thin and washable. I used to wash ours inbetween each use because it was stored for several weeks/months between uses. Then if I used it as a playpen I didnt put the extra mattress down.
