Subject : Anyone started the show / to lose the plug yet?

Hi Ladies,

Totally random question. Just wondered if anyone was starting to lose the cervical plug or having a show yet?

Hiya - not posted on here for ages - since I was about 13 weeks I think! Am now 36wks 2moro and thought I'd have a peek at what was going on.

Just to let you know when I had my daughter I had a show about 1-2 days before I went into labour at 39+5wks. I went to the loo and when I wiped there was like a clear jelly (and lots of it!!) with no brown/pink tinge or any blood in it like some people say they get so just to let you know to watch out for anything like this! lol nice. :) I phoned the mw unit who confirmed it was probably that. A day or so later, I started getting what I thought was painful BH and was in established labour on the Monday when I got to the hospital to get checked out! Hadnt even taken my notes with me as wasnt expecting to be kept in!

Good luck to all the December mums - not long now xxx

I had a few little globs a couple of weeks ago now, midwife says you can expect that sometimes as it sometimes doesn't all go at once. I had no contractions or anything else with it so that was fine. The way I can decribe it was you know that stuff that they use to stick leaflets to magazines, not sticky like it but the look of it globs of itxxxx

I haven't had it yet...tho i'm knicker checking just in case. Mine last time was a clear glob with thin blood streaks in it.
I never lost mine last time until i was getting contractions.

I lost my plug in the morning and wasnt worried too much as i know it can happen sometime before labour starts. my oH insisted i get checked out at the hospital. I was in the waiting room, thinking i will go home soon and come back when labour starts. eventually the MW came and took me into a room where she examined me. I was totally shocked to find I was 5 cm dilated and within half an hour was fully dilated.
i had only a couple of tightenings that day.

Whats strange is that i didnt ever have this with me last baby - didnt have a show, waters didnt go... all the things i were expecting!

i had dippy belly for a day then next day could hardly get out of bed as back was agony and then from 9am had few feelings but ignored them... this went on for hours and i stll ignored until though mmmm these seem to be regular then timed them and realised SHIT they are contractions... by time hubby came home from work it was 6pm and put tens machine on and then rang hospital - went there about 9pm and still no show or waters breaking - didnt then have him until 7am the next morning so was very long!

Not sure what to expect this time as think it will be weird if waters go i'll have panic attack - hehehe x

I think I may have lost part of my plug on thursday evening. sorry TMI but showed it to DH and he also believes it looked like what the midwife described at the birthing class. there wasnt much of it and it wasn't bloody so if it was my plug it was only part of it.

xx
