Subject : O/T My nan has died

This morning on her 90th birthday. She fell out of bed the other week and fractured her shoulder and while in hospital they tested her for stuff. They found that her stomach had moved into her chest(!) which is a life-threatening condition. My Nan chose to have an operation for it which in itself is life-threatening for someone of that age. She got through the op but took a turn for the worse yesterday with an infection

I have no more grandparents. I'm 25 and I have no grandparents! That's young isn't it?

No need to reply girls, I'm just waffling

xx

I'm so sorry hun, I hope you and your family are ok. You must be devastated but your nan knew the risks and was prepared. Im sure she will always be with you.

Both of my Dads parents died before I was born and my nan died when I was four. I was very close to my Grandad but he died when I was 16 so ive never really had any Grandparents.

Take care

Gx

I'm so sorry to hear about your nan. My hubby and myself have no grandparents either so I know exactly how you feel. I've only ever had a grandma but she died a few yr ago.

90 year old a really good age, I bet she had a great life and at least she got to meet Haiden. You have a photo don't you? I'm sure I've seen it on FB.

Thinking about you

Oh I am so sorry honey. It's never easy to lose someone close no matter how old they are or you are.
I don't really know what else to say except I'm thinking of you Smile

Thanks girls. I think the worst thing is not that my nan has died, but that I think she was scared and that's what I am finding it difficult to come to terms with. She was sedated because she panicked every time she came to. I really hope she is happy and with the people she loved years ago

Sorry to hear about your Nan Kimmy. Is it your Nan on the picture with Haiden? It is sad for the people left behind but try and take comfort in her being 90 which is such a good age. I'm sure she would have loved being a Nan and Great Nan. It is hard but the best thing to do is to celebrate the 90 wonderful years that she's been here, rather than the bit that she's gone.

Sending you hugs
K x

So sorry to hear about your Nan Kimmy, Paul's Granny had a close call last night which gave us a right scare and has left us all very shaken but glad for the time she has had so far with Isabelle.

Sadly her other grandchildren don't bother with her quite so much, so my hubby is hoping that this is the wake up call they need to pop round once in a while and spend half an hour with her while they can.

Like you say, I hope your Nan is with the people she loves, and of course she will be looking down on your Haiden who will have a lovely photo when she is older to have stories told around and memories passed down to her.

Bets XxX
