Well thats me bck from HSG.... appointment was at 9.40, was back in the car for 10.15! :)

All in all..... it was absolutely agony!!......I was about crying, at one point i was on the verge of telling the Doc to stop! ha.. i thought i was going to be sick!.....The nurse was very nice tho and very reassuring!
I also thought.... "child birth.... NO WAY!!" haha

Uterus - looks normal and good
Right tube - dye went through no problem at all
Left tube - little bit of dye came out eventually, but there does seem to be a slight problem (maybe a blockage)

I came out feeling pretty pleased tbh, ok its not the best news.
The way i look at it...... If both tubes were blocked/damaged i would have been devasted, if the test came back all clear, id have been left wondering what it could be and then may be put in the "unexplained" bracket (although OH SA isnt back yet). So at least i do know that i have one tube that is in good working order and there is a slight problem with the other one (maybe the hsg has cleared it a bit, who knows).... but this could be the reason that it is taken longer for us! :) heres hoping anyway!!

Has anyone here had similar results from an HSG??

Thank you to everyone who has supported me through the last few days, they have been tough!
Glad its all over now tho!!

xxxxxx

Oh no so sorry to hear it was painful, mine wasn't at all so it is weird how these things affect people differently.

I can't help with the tube being a bit blocked I'm afraid but I know what you mean about sort of wanting something to be wrong so you can have something to blame!x

Bet you're glad that's over with aren't you! One tube slightly blocked isnt too bad. Will they put you on Clomid next if you're not already on it?

That's not too bad news but sorry that you found it painful. Keep up the painkillers because I was tender for a couple or three days afterwards. xxx

Cupcake that's good news hun!!!!
Sorry to hear it was painful for you (it was for me too) the nurse had to find a bed for me to go and lie down on afterwards because i looked so pale!!

My results were practically the same as yours, slightly blocked one side! When i had the drilling the dye went through a little better but hey one good tube is great news!! like you say at least your not being put into the 'unexplained' catagory.

It's strange but i was told that although you ovulate from alternate ovary each month it is possible for the egg to get over to the other tube!
Hope you're not feeling too sore x

Hey CC, sorry to hear how painful it was for you. I was very wriggly in mine, but I'm just ridiculously sensitive!
Great to hear your positive attitude about the results. At least you know what you're dealing with now and have a few answers.....here's hoping the HSG has cleared the tube out and you get a lovely BFP in the next few months! Well done for surviving it xxx

Thanx to everyone for replying....

I actually im really pleased with myself for doing it! ha :)

Mrsj36: Oh i wish mine wasnt painful like yours.... think it also might depend on the doc doing it and what they are like.... i know myself even getting blood taken, sum people just dont bother!

Sparkly-Flump: Im not really sure about Clomid tbh, Im not on it the now anyway. What i do know is that i Ovulate each month...would i still be prescribed clomid?... sorry im not totally up on all this.

MrsHopeful: I was a bit tender yesterday afternoon, but feel fine this morning, just taken some painkillers though, incase it kicks in in abit! :)

Glenns*Angel: Yeah i was told that although she isnt 100% sure of the left side, shes not saying that it is blocked, but even if it was your chances arent halfed, for the exact reason you mentioned. (but what im thinking is, if its not halfed, well why is it taken soo long!!..... maybe OH SA will have more answers)

TBD: Yeah well the doc did say that "gunk" could have been cleared out and that the next couple of cycles are a great chance to get BFP.... heres hoping anyway.

Im back at the consultant on Monday 7th December.... by then OH's SA results will be back and we can discuss an "Action Plan". :)

Hay sugar plum sorry to hear your hsg was a bit traumatic, least its over with now. The good news is the dye may have moved some of the blockage in your tube and it may be ok. Iv got my fingers crossed for you and hope you get some good news from your consutant when you next go XX

Glad that's all over and done with and that on the whole the results were positive.
It's not the most pleasant of procedures but I tried to keep my eyes on the prize and think about why I was having it done - didn't stop me from yelping though!!

Apparently your fertility can increase post HSG as any debris has been flushed out of your tubes so here's hoping that it helps you to get your BFP.

As you say though, if there is a slight blockage with one of your tubes then it may at least explain things rather than just being unexplained, and also things can be done to try to rectify it.

Onwards and upwards.

Hi Cupcake

Realy glad that things went ok & you are pleased with the outcome! Usually it can help flush things & help with a blockage if you do have a slight one.

Do you know hun im so glad im not the only one who found it painful. To be honest it was the worst pain ive ever felt,I was actually traumatised when i got home! I thought it was me being a baby!

On the other hand i know lots of other ladies have had them & have only felt discomfort & no pain at all! I guess its just different for everyone.

Lets hope to see a BFP for you very soon hun. All the best. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi CC,
Am so pleased that everything went ok (except for the pain of course, but hope you are feeling better now!), and as the other ladies have said, most dr's say that there is an increased chance of conceiving after a HSG because it gives you a 'good old clear out':) Wishing you all the best for your next cycle!

Claire-ski: My thoughts exactly.... Onwards and Upwards.... I actually feel now that i MAY get that BFP sooner rather than NEVER which i was beginning to think!! ..... :)
Yesterday was either going to boost my PMA lots or do the exact opposite and im glad its all went soo well!!

PrincessStar: Oh i was abit traumitised too, couldnt stop thinking about it yesterday.... it was awful.. and i must admit i have a high pain threshold, dont suffer from pain very often, could get tattoo's on a daily basis! ha.... But boy oh boy that was truelly awful!! .... Glad its done with! I spoke tp someone who said she wld rather go thru child birth than a HSG (and she has 5 kids already and didnt have any blockages)

Sanguine: Yeah the doc defo did say that the next few cycles are good to get a BFP... so heres hoping for a Christmas BFP!! :)
Sadly im out this month as i got HSG done on day 17.... :(

You poor thing. On a positive note if the lady said the HSG was worse than childbirth, it will be a breeze for you when you do get pg LOL!

Lets hope the next couple of months bring you a nice little surprise xxx
