Subject : Taken the leap !
Phew - that wasn't too bad ! Although H was actually born in September I'm here !
Anyway ...
I posted a question earlier today about Avent v Medela breast pumps.
Everyone has recommended medula - but I don't know anything about it....
Does anyone have the Avent Electric Breast Pump that could tell me whether it s any good ? I'm desparate to order one tonight as I want it delivered ASAP !
Thanks
K

Hey you :D
Hope you and H are good? Yep we're all making the leap across, our due in forum will close next month anyway which will be quite a sad thing really.
Anyway, you're still an October girl lol, you're only one day out which is nothing ha ha!!
Right to answer you're question I'm afraid I can't speak from personal experience cuz I'm bottle feeding (little miss wouldn't latch and we got very stressed), but I can tell you what my bf friends have said and they ALL recommend the medela swing one. Apparently it's fantastic! Haven't heard great things about the Avent tbh.
If I was bf I'd have got the Medela one hun purely because I've heard it's so good.
So get buying :) xxx

Hey lady! We're good thanks. H is sleeping really well at night which is such a relief - he's not so settled during the day but I'd rather have it that way! Although it does make it hard to get anything done when he won't settle ... but he's asleep now so have just dashed round doing a few bits! Haven't managed any housework this week tho - doh!
I went for the Medela in the end - got it for about £80 which isn't too bad - still a LOT of money tho - but I'm pretty sure I'll get my money's worth - I'm expressing two feeds a day at the moment (which I'm having to express 3/4 times a day to get) - he's eating so well - and needs 3oz before bed and then another 5oz in the night ... that's quite a lot to express with a manual pump - am hoping I'll get more milk with the Medela!
How are you and little Ava doing ? We're off to Mothercare in a mo - my friend that is due in 3 weeks is having a baby shower on Saturday so want to buy a little something ...
K & H xxx
ps - do you find it strange not putting "36+6" on the end of your posts - I can't get used to it !!!

Blimey that's expensive hun - these babies don't come cheap do they?!!
Yea we're doing good thanks. Ava seems to be in her own little routine which is every 3 hours. She sleeps well at night too going from 11pm - 4am then half 4 - 7.30/8am although last night she went down at 11 after having 4oz and didn't wake until 5.30!! Then went back down again until 9am! So it's not quite the same every night but she does only wake the once.
She doesn't settle well during the day like H either, I'm thinking of ways to keep her entertained - she likes to make sure she's not missing out on anything! Going to buy her a playgym thingy see if she takes to that!
Yeah how strange is it to not write how many weeks pregnant we are now?!!
Have a good shop round mothercare hun!

We are going to get H a playgym for xmas - he likes his playmat but I think he gets bored after a while - and he has started to reach out a bit now so by xmas he'll love it !
H is brill at night - we put him down at 8 and he goes through until 2/3am, has a BIG feed and then goes through until 7. Such a little star. Hope it lasts !!
Had a good shop in Mothercare - got birthdayand xmas pressies for my friend's little girl, a baby shower gift and an xmas pressie for H. I could have spent a FORTUNE but fortunatly I couldn't balance anything else on my pram.
Must dash - feeding time at the zoo ! ;-)

Hi Ladies,
Sorry to come in on your conversation, but I just thought I'd say that Callum loves his play gym and he's only 2 weeks old! We got the tiny love kick and play one and he loves hiting the windchime duck and kicking the crinkly bits!! We were also given the tiny love black and white book which we have put on his gym and he loves staring at the pictures (Mr Snail seems to be his favourite!!) These 2 things keep him amused for at least two 15min sessions each day, which is great and it gets him tired too with all of that kicking and hitting!!
Glad to hear you are enjoying mummyhood and that your babies are behaving most of the time!
WW & Calum xXx
(Maybe we should start putting the baby's age rather than "34+6" at the end of our posts, just so we don't feel like there's something missing!!)

Think I'm going to have to get one then, she's wide awake now and there's only so much of shaking the rattles at her that she'll contend with ha ha!!
Plus it means I can get on with some things, I can't go for walks atm due to my infection in my stitches (ouch).
LOL SW we took Ava to mothercare & mamas & papas the week after she was born and I "may" have purchased quite a few things ahem, especially if it was pink haha!!
