good luck! i need to know your experience as we will be trying Thomas soon (boooo!).

Thomas likes to feel snug - in his moses basket (aka the pram) he scratches the side, and if we put him into bed in the morning with us he rolls over until he can feel hubby's pillow on his face....so i reckon he will HATE his cot!

what position have you put her in - at the top or bottom? and have you got a cot bumper? not sure whether to use it or not.

xxxx

She'll be fine hun and prob enjoy the peace in her big girls room. You and hubby can jump into bed, read with the light on and fart as loud as you like now. x x

hey hun...will let you know how we get on..so far so good though so fingers crossed!

we have taken the bumper off (had it on for show while she's been in with us! HA!) ...bit paramoid about it and dont want to risk anything so better to be off in my eyes!...saying that though she doesn't move at all during the night (other than her arms and kicks her legs up but nothing else!)

she's in a sleeping bag (always has been since she's been out of her moses) so we have put her down on her back as we have been doing in the crib

was going to put her mobile on to soothe her but figured shes never had it on a night before while in her crib/noses so why start now - she'll only get used to it! ...she has it on during the morning while I'm getting ready though!

so, here's to having our bedroom back and not whispering to each other like teenagers again! heehee!! xxx

ps am sure Thomas will be fine too...my top tip...get him used to being in the cot / his room during the day now that way it won't (or shouldn't be!) so scary for him! xxx

Mrs e, you could put him in his cot, in his moses basket for daytime naps? May help get him used to it. x

aww i'm sure all will be fine hun. annabelle has been in her own room for a few weeks now as i was getting no sleep. but shes a nightmare!! moves everywere, rolls onto her tummy and gets her legs stuck in the cot bars. so still really get no sleep as i often check on her now. but hopefully all goes well for you. xx

i've tried T in his cot for daytime naps recently and he's done ok....but that's only because hubby devised some strange thing with a towel for him to lie on to prevent him from rolling over (the first time we put him in there he rolled over, slept on his stomach (never done that before) and put his head in the bumper....we were checking every few mins!)

don't want him sleeping all night on the towel thing that hubby has created. so i will probably remove it over the next day or so for his daytime naps.

thanks xx

She'll be just fine hun and so will mummy (speaking from personal experience). We wanted L in our room for atleast 6 months but he used to grunt in his sleep (don't know what that was about) and I have epilepsy so don't do well with sleep deprivation. So at 8 weeks old, we moved him in his room and I do miss him terribly but LOVE LOVE LOVE, waking up and going to his room in the morning and getting the biggest smile ever!

mrs_e - I was told by my nurse that bumpers were not a good idea at all as babies could suffocate if they go up close but can't roll away for whatever reason. I took mine off immediately. Also, we put L to sleep in his cot at night but also for his daytime naps, so now he knows that when he's in his cot, it's sleep time. I just put him in and wrap a blanket around him just under his arms. He hated being swaddled!!

Goodluck and fingers crossed xx

She was a star!! Took 40 mins to settle but she was just looking at us and moaning not crying so that's ok!
She was down by 8 and woke at half 12 and 5 am which is only once more than normal. we both got up at half 8 this morning!!! Woo hooo!!

She really is an angel but I'm sure with bonfire night due it will change!!!
