Subject : Am I being over anxious?
Hi everyone,
Not really posted in this forum before but some of you may know me form ttc after mc.
I'm hoping you'll be able to give me some reassurance. I am pg again straight after my mc and am obviously feeling very anxious about this pg. I have had some spotting but had an early scan and saw hb. Since then my pregnancy symptoms have fluctated and over last few days have had back ache. I'm so worried this is a sign of mc again. My symptoms have not totally disappeared and I have not had any cramping of spotting for nearly a week now. Is anyone experiencing the same? I am approx 6-7 weeks pregnant.
Sorry for rant xxx

Hi Glimmer - I know exactly what you mean, you'd think that the symptom spotting would end with BFP but after what we've been through it natural to be feeling worried. I find myself trying to rate how nauseous I feel and how sore my boobs are etc but I guesss we just have to try and trust that this is our time.
You've seen a lil HB so the chances of things going wrong again are very much reduced, try not to worry too much (pot, kettle and black I know!!). xx

Hi Glimmer,
I totally sympathise hun. My symptoms disappeared when I thought I was about 5+3. I was *convinced* that I had had another MMC. Even so far as investigating the effects of repeated D&Cs. I had hCGs done, which were high - so high that the dr was worried about a molar pg so I had a scan to rule that out. And there was a heartbeat!! It turns out I was a couple of days ahead which was why my hCG was so high. I know it is so hard not to worry, but symptoms disappearing happens. I was about 6 weeks when they disappeared and they reappeared at about 6+5.
Try not to worry hun, like DM says, it is great that you have seen the HB - this is the best sign that you can possibly have at this stage that all is well.
(((((((hugs)))))))

My symptoms also completely disappeared at 8+3, so was referred to EPU because of my history of MMC for an emergency scan the same day, everything was fine and my symptoms came back in week 10 and are just starting down again in week 11. Symptoms do fluctuate and backache is an early pregnancy symptom!
I know it's easier said than done but try not to worry!

Thank you ladies, your replies have really helped. My oh keeps telling me to chill out and to stop over analysisng everything. Like you all say its easier said then done though. I have my 1 st midwife appointment on Monday so I hope she will help to reassure me so more
Today my backache has eased and I have felt quesay again! I also have a massive growth on my cheek which I can see when I look down, some people may call it a spot but my god it could be growing another head!!
I'm so lucky to have been able to see my babies hb. Does anyone know how much the risk of mc is reduced once your see a hb?? Also if anyone has any good tips to deal with spots that would be useful too lol. xxx

Hi hun,
This is from the National MC Association:
Research has shown that if you see a heartbeat at 6 weeks of pregnancy, the chances of the pregnancy continuing are 78%. A heartbeat at 8 weeks increases the chance of a continuing pregnancy to 98% and at 10 weeks to 99.4%. So things could still go wrong, but as long as there is a heartbeat, the risk of miscarriage decreases as the weeks go by - http://miscarriageassociation.org.uk/ma2006/information/ultrasound.htm
Glad your back is feeling better and you're starting to feel sick again!! Oooh, and spots, always good!!! No advice on them - except I always use vodka on them - kills bacteria, stops them spreading and if you squeeze them then whack it straight on to the surrounding area!!! Vodka might as well have some use now!!!
Love Kristen xx
18 weeks!

Thanks Kristen. Didn't realise the chances of miscarraige decreased so much!! Has made me feel so much more positive!! Think I'm about 7 weeks but due to falling pg startight after mc can't be 100%. Another week though and chances are only 2% Wow!!!
Thanks girls, I am 1 happy lady now :)
