Subject : Swollen tummy advice

Hi guys

This may be a stupid question but I had a bit of a belly after the birth and the HV said my uterus was back in shape but my tummy seems to have popped out a bit. Trousers that fit me a few weeks ago are a little tight but my weight is roughly the same so im confused. My period is due in about a week but my tummy has been swollen all of this cycle. I pressed my tum today and it felt a bit sensitive like period pain and i have done a pegnancy test which was negative. I am not sure whether to see a doctor, I know I should with any concerns but feel embarrased in case he says youve just had a baby luv of course your belly will be swollen!

Is this normal?

Gxx

Totally normal. It's like of you let the air out of a balloon, it wont look like it did before you blew it up! Give it time and things will gradually go back to normal.

How old is your LO? Could you be a bit pre-menstalish? That could explain the crampy feelings (although if your LO is still tiny - then you will feel like that!)

hi i see ur baby was born in august (from ur otehr topics) so if ur belly has only just begun to swell rather than been like it se-ince the birth, then i suggest u see ur doctor. is it tender to touch? does it feel uncomfortable if u sit down? if this is ur first period it cld just eb that ur getting a lot of water retention with it, but i wld say see ur doctor sooner rather than later, if u've developed an infection then best to get it treated asa, and eually if u r indeed preggers again i'm sure u wld rather know sooner than later xx
