Hi all

I'm just after some advice and reassurance I think. Since lunch I have been getting some very sharp pains in my lower abdomen and I am 5+4. I don't know if this is normal as it is my 1st pregnancy and I don't kow who I could ask as i'm not yet in touch with the mw but it doesn't seem serious enough to contact the dr about.

Can anyone tell me if this is normal?

i think we have experienced this at some point, im 8 weeks now and i had it at around 5 weeks, it was more like period paisn and apparently its your Uterus and ligmanets strecthing for whne baby will be growing! Obviously if you are concerned get it checked out but i know alot of us had this at first! i also had trapped wind sorry if TMI ha but it was terrible in the morning for giving me pains! x

thanks newmummy thats exactly what I was hoping to hear. It is very similar to af and is even going down into my thighs which feels really odd. It must be planning on being a big bean!

hi hun it sounds like natural stretching pains to me which i know from experience can be painful and really scary at first! im sure ur lil bean is fine xxxx

How long do they normally last for? I am starting to feel much more tired the past 2 days so I imagine my bean is having a growth spurt.

mine last on and off for abt 2 weeks, so dont be panicked if its still there for a few days, im 9 weeks tomo and cant say ive felt any pains recently! my tiredness has only just subsided as well tbh, can saty up til 10pm half 10 at the latest! when i was 6 weeks i was in bed at half8- 9pm! cant wait for a scan now, roll on my scan letter xx

im still having a few twinges and feeling bloated at night esp,my belly also looks a bit bigger then!

with the tiredness, im better than i was, like NM at 6,7 weeks i was hopeless, really really tired in the evenings lucky if i saw 10p.m.! bit better now but definitely not my usual self, mornings are a nightmare, im crapper than usual getting up!!

Oh, sounds like the pains and tiredness could be the start of something for the next couple of weeks then. I don't have any nausea yet though so thats a bonus!

Can't wait until I can say 9 weeks like you ladies, and certainly can't wait until 12 week scan!

I also had some pains around 5 weeks too. Try not to worry I'm sure its your baby getting nice, snug and warm ready for the next 71/2 months!! xx

Rubarb my belly is huge at night, have to get home from work and get changed so im comfortable! i see my MW on Tuesday so hopefully she will chase my scan up as still not had a letter off the hospital! they are slow sometimes! Have you seen you MW yet?
Im sure you'll soon be hittign 9 weeks LDrizzle, it has come round so quick for me! x

Hey! glad im not the only one expanding at night!! my belly also feels odd, not painful, but im just putting it down to stretching!

mw phoned me today, she's sending me the scan form to fill in, then appt next week, hoping for a scan in the 12th week so i can hopefully tell everyone! some of my family have guessed i think, but they've been quite good and not asked me outright!

how are you feeing today hun - have the pains eased? I think mine stopped around 6 weeks so dont be too worried if you still have them. xx

well my pains stopped the same day and I havn't felt anythhing since, which i'm now worried about!! I'm just so difficult to please!

I'm going to do another test this afternoon just to put my mind at ease.

oh Lemon drizzle, the pains do come and go so try not to panic! mine were on and off for about 2 weeks! so they may come back but just try and take each day as it comes!

Rubard, i defo bloat up at night and i think i look pregnant then come morning its gone haha! suppose its a good thing tho as work still dont know! good news about the scan and MW, i have my MW tuesday cant wait! x
