Subject : How do you make up your bottles

Also posted in Due in Oct as not really sure what forum to start using!!!!!

Hi im sure this has been asked so many times but just wondered how you all made up your bottles?
To start with we boiled water, let it cool and added the powder straight away and put the bottles in the fridge. Grace has always been really good and taken them straight from the fridge but i now feel its a bit cold for her. We have now started adding the cooled water to bottles and then leaving them on the side at room temperature and adding the powder as required. She seems ok taking them like this and its easier to go out with!

So just wondering what other bottle feeding mums are doing? Also how long can the water be left on the side for?

Once the water has cooled and put in the bottles, I put them on the side and then add the powder, when the bottle is required. Also have little powder pots that sit inside my tommee tippee bottles for when we are out and about. I don't heat the milk, just keep it at room temp x

We add the powder to freshly boiled water, then put in a jug of cool water to cool down enough for her to drink....we make each one up as she needs it!!

I almost wish i'd just given her them at room temperature from the beginning as she wont drink them cool now, she likes them warm, which can be a pain when were out!!

I've found that starbucks and greyfriars are most accomodating when it comes to heating the bottles though, which means i can get a lovely coffee or some nice lunch with friends too Happy

I also have the powder pots for the tommee tippee bottles, fab arnt they?? xxxx

Do you have to wait until the water has cooled before putting it in the bottles (if you are leaving them on the side) or can you put the water in hot and then leave them to cool ?

SW - I leave the kettle to cool for a bit then add the water (it's still really hot!) then leave the made up bottles on the side before putting in the fridge.
I did a long reply on the "due in" forum on this post xxx
