Subject : How long after 1st MC did it take to conceive?

Hi everyone

I hope you dont mind me having a little rant...its therapy more than anything....here goes.

I'm 28 and my husband is 32 and we're otherwise very healthy and TTC our first baby. I had my first m/c at the beginning of October and I'm desperate to conceive again. Im We decided not to wait for our first AF before trying as we thought we should jump back on the wagon, so to speak. I miscarried on the 10/10 and noticed EWCM and had cramps on 25/10. Therefore from this I guess my cycle has returned to normal due to my OV period being the same as it was pre miscarriage. Having said this I think I've set myself up for a big fall.

I'm expecting my period this coming weekend but couldn't resist testing this morning (think I'm 9DPO) and got a BFN. Slap my wrists and scald me ....i deserve it but i just couldnt help it.....I know its too early to be testing but the BFN has crushed me. I was hoping and praying that I would see a BFP like i had 3 weeks ago but no success. I'm now scared, nervous and resentful of my body and the fact that i most probably wont be able to produce a BFP this weekend. Im not looking forward to telling hubby and feel a resounding sense of failure - failure to carry a baby, failure to produce my husbands offspring and failure to do what all women are naturally meant to do.

I know that having a miscarriage (and only my first and hopefully last) that i have a high percentage of having a succesful pregnancy after a first miscarriage. However I still cant help thinking about it almost every waking minute of every day. I've also got to be thankful that I have miscarried only once and there are many many storng women on this site who have suffered worse or more than one miscarriage....i should stop moaning really.

Anyway, what i wanted to know is how long did/has it taken for people to conceive after miscarriage and was it a successful pregnancy?

S xxx

Hey,

I am exactly the same as you - first pg ended in mc at start of OCt and had OV pains on CD9 so was expecting af on Sun/Mon. However, still no sign at all so I either think I haven't OV'd or got dates wrong and OV'd later. Got a BFN on Mon and yesterday so am waiting till the wknd before testing again if af doesn't show.

I have heard you're more fertile after a mc and asked this same question on here at start of Oct. Loads of people said they conceived a healthy pg in the first or 2nd cycle after mc so am holding hope.

All the best - it sounds like we're in similar situations. I'll look out for you on here.

Wishing you lots of babydust this weekend xx

Hi Snooks - sory for your loss. Please don't feel like a failure you did nothing wrong!! I'm sure hubby won't be blaming you either though I know exactly how you feel I felt to blame after my 2nd MC too.

I had a chem PG in June and started TTC straight away it was the 2nd cycle before we concieved again unfortunately that ended in early MC too in early Sept. We then waited a cycle to give my body and mind time to get back to normal and have fallen PG on first cycle of trying. It's very early days so can't say if it'll be successful but am hoping it's 3rd time lucky.

Good luck hun, it'll happen when your body is ready. xx

Congratulations Dangermouse and Glimmer!! Thats great news. It gives me every bit of hope!

Just a few questions though (please dont feel obliged to answer them if you dont want to)!

Dangermouse - are your symptoms different to the first time around?
Glimmer if you dont mind me asking - you conceived before first AF after MC. Did you have any symptoms and were they different from first time around? When did you find out you were pregnant? Do you know roughly how far you are (its meant to be difficult to date if you dont have an af inbetween)?

Thanks Snooks xxx

Hi snooks - don't worry about asking questions thats what we're here for!! My symptoms have varied this time, the nausea started pretty much the same as last time (about a week or so before AF due) though my boobie pain is different (last time heavy and achey this time shooting pains) last time I got dizzy spells which I haven't had this time. I was worried that it wasn't a good sign but I think every pregnancy is different and though symptoms are similar they won't be exactly the same. xx
