Subject : Am I mental? worrying because bubs is moving MORE!?
I apologise in advance if this is a completely nutty question but I just can't help it.
I'm 26 weeks and 3 days pregnant and over the last week, (and in particular over the last few days) I feel like bubs is moving all day every day. Now I know she's getting bigger and more active as time goes on but I've actually found myself worrying that she's in some sort of distress and that's why she's wriggling around all the time.
Am I compoletely mental???
Also has anyone else had really significant increase in the amount of movement at this stage??
Just so that you all know I have made my peace with the fact that by even thinking this my marbles might be well and truly lost.....

I was having this exact issue the last couple of weeks. Aparently it is pretty hard to tell whether the baby is awake or asleep even when it is moving, as it can get very active during REM sleep. So i wouldn't worry about it and just enjoy the feeling cause soon it will be too big to jump about!!

you took the thoughts and words right out of my mouth..!! I am 32 weeks and in the past few days it feels like there is a massive party going on in there..!! I was fearing that maybe it was in stress... but then I just put the thought to the back of my head... but easier said than done..
We have a scan tomorrow, and I am sure it will be as still as can be..!! and I will think that I have been imagining the whole thing..!!
Here's to happy wriggly babies..!!
A xx

Hon it's completely normal to feel like this and completely normal for some babies to just get a wiggle on! I'm 33+3 and mine still break dances most evenings. I had a consultant appt and when she was doing the doppler she was like "woah, someones happy", the heartbeat was really going for it and so was he but she laughed and said it was lovely to see.
Honestly, make the most of it as within a week you'll be having worries that bubs isn't moving enough.
I always say that us worrying is going to make us good mums as we are worrying about our little ones before they arrive lol!
Your ok, you still have your marbles but it will get worse, I promise! (says she who has to remove the salt and pepper shaker from my perfumes lol!

Thanks girls!
EmmaH1234 - its good to know that the midwife thought that all that wriggling was a good thing!
Minieggs - can't believe you're 11 weeks already!! how exciting. when's your scan?? glad the nausea is on the wane. I was never actually sick but spent weeks feeling super grotty. It does pass eventually though. We're not having anymore scans - trying to save our pennies. Can't believe the next time we see her she'll be here!! xx

The time dragged at the start now it seems to be speeding up! My scan is next tues, can't wait, just hope all is ok. Had a private scan at 8 weeks which reassured me but will be great to see baby in a baby shape!
Are you getting all ready for her arrival at home now? i can't wait to start buying stuff! xx

MonkeyNuts I read your post yesterday afternoon and thought what a strange thing that was to worry about.
Lo and behold about half an hour later my baby was kicking and punching (sometimes at the same time) like never before, and it carried on all evening and started again this morning the moment I woke up, and I totally understand now what you mean!!!
OH put his hand on my tummy last night when I told him what was going on and he was quite freaked out by it, he's only ever felt gentle movements before but it's like a real proper foot sticking out now!
Hope you're feeling less worried. I tend to find when my baby is mentally active one day, it balances out with a quiet day the next.
