Subject : I need baby to make an appearance now

My dad is being admitted for brain surgery on Tuesday, the thought makes me feel ill, but im also aware it means he wont meet Dylan for a while if I give birth after then.

So girls tips on how I can make my little man come and say hello! If I go into labour same day my dad has his surgery I think my mum will have a nervous breakdown! Frown

I know he will come when he is ready its just the situation is sh*t and i needed to write it down!

Oh dear, it never rains but it pours doesn't it. Everything always happens at once!!

I don't have any tips on how to make your l/o come earlier, apart from the usuals which don't appear to work :-(

But I really hope Dylan does come soon for you. Have they said how long your dad is expected to be in hosp for after his surgery, or does it all depend how things go?

He only saw consultant half an hour ago my mum is gonna fill me in on all the details later today!

I dont even know how to process this info at all, he's been ill throughout my pregnancy, they were gonna tell me, my sister and my hubbie that he was having tests the weekend I went home and told them I was pregnant. They were so happy they left it a week to tell us. But brain surgery is something that makes me feel ill just to think about! So im not thinking about it (not really dealing with situation though is it lol!)

Hi,

I had a hot curry last night and it didn't do a thing other than keep me up all night with horrific heartburn - could you appeal to your MW and beg for a sweep??

I'm really sorry that your dad is unwell and wish him all the best with his operation,

Awww hun, i am sooo sorry to hear about your dad, wish him well from us wont you.

As for trying to get little one to make an appearence asap i can't offer any advise except the usual stuff really, maybe try what Bubble Toes said and beg MW for a sweep...no harm in asking is there.

Thinking of you xxxx

Hi,

Sorry to hear your Dad has been poorly and about his surgery. Whilst waiting to see midwife yesterday a mother of three was saying you have taken your rasberry tea and she looked quite surprised when I said no, she had her first 10 days early and second on time and was due next week but encouraged me to get the tea if I didnt want to go over but a little late now for me!

Hope all goes well for you Dad and family xx

Oh sweet, that must be hard for you to hear with your dad right now. I hope the op goes well for him. I guess the best advice I have to offer is to try not to stress or force the need for bubs to arrive as it may only delay it? How hard that must be to do in reality though. Apart from that, lots of intimacy with hubby so keep that up, it should hopefully help relax you too.

It would be lovely for your dad to be able to meet Dylan before Tuesday, and also maybe help him take his mind off his own surgery which may be worrying him too. But dont worry if he doesnt arrive before then, there is a lot going on for your family over the next week and the lovely arrival of Dylan afterwards, should he need to bake some more, will be a breath of fresh air for your family after your dad's surgery. Besides that, it will give you some time and energy to spend with your dad now, before you are consumed (in a nice way) with Dylan when he arrives.

xx

Thanks ladies

My dad has been ill more or less the whole time ive been pregnant its just I never thought brain surgery would be an option, partly as thats not where the problem started. I tend to do quite well in high levels of stress but I want to keep it away from baby as much as possible!

Hubby is great, very much on my wavelength and doesnt shy away from talking about the grim stuff if I need it, meaning I stay realistic but reducing my stress levels as much as possible, and Sim with the amount of intamacy I think he thinks its christmas LOL!

I next see my midwife the day my dads admitted so im a little wary of asking for a sweep just because if it does kick start it as lovely as that would be for me it would stress my mum out a lot as bless her she can only be in one place and I know how much she is looking forward to this baby but how much she is also worried about my dad. In a way it would be nice if he was realy late as bar being uncomfy my dad will have had more chance to recover, I actually dont know how to feel. I'd like to just concentrate on one or the other but I cant.

It helps to just write it down, thanks ladies

Oh Em so sorry to hear your news. I think the best thing you can wish for now is that Dylan is late as that means your Dad will have a chance to recover slightly and won't miss out on too much.

What God awful timing but at least you have something else to think about and it will take your mind off all the waiting. You sound like you're coping stress wise which is great news so I hope you can keep it that way :)

I wish your Dad all the very best for his surgery and hope Dylan arrives at the most suitable time for you all.

Big hugs!!!!

Em,

Not much more I can say that the other lovelies haven't already said, so I'm going to send you big hugs for you and your dad. Hope the operation is a total success next week and that his recovery is quick.

Thanks girls to you all, I spoke to them last night he will be in hospital 4-5 days after the op which is (hopefully) wednesday! So he should be discharged on my due date or day after. It will then be a 6-8 week recovery period. Survival rate for op is 85-90% and it should hopefully prolong his life, which is nice.

My mum and dad have just said he will come when he comes and my mum will come over and take pics for my dad if it is when he is in hospital, but at least if its 4-5 days he wont miss too much.

I am ok, really wish this wasnt happening now but life likes to be challenging. Roll on day after the op!
