Subject : I am sooooooo tired...
......I need sleep!!!
Saturday lo slept from 7pm until 6am no problems.
Sunday she slept from 9pm til 5am, then 6am until 7.30am (but then had a 3 hour nap straight after her bottle at 7.30am)
Monday night she slept from 9pm until 5am, then 6am until 7.30am and then wouldnt really go back to sleep until about 1.30pm then she slept until4.30pm!
And last night, she went to sleep about 9.30pm, woke at 2.30am, back to sleep straight after bottle, woke again at 4.50am (when oh left for work) - not for a feed - just a nappy change and a dummy and she went back to sleep until 8am ..... just had a bottle and went back to sleep about15 mins ago.
Whats going on!!!
We have sort of gone off her nighttme routine the last few days - bath. bottle, bed - simply due to being busy, out at family etc, so tonight we will have to get back on it (plus Im at my dads tonight so we HAVE to bath her when she gets back due to the smoke )
I wonder if its either -
hungry/ready for weaning - she used to have 6 bottles a day, but we increased the amount in each bottle and now she has prob 5 sometimes 5 1/2.
being disturbed by us moving etc (did another post on this just now)
I think she is ready for her bedtime to be brought forward, and after this week we are going to bring it forward til about 8pm or so.
I know she's tired a she's sleeping for so long in the day!!
Our bedroom temp is about 20 - 21 - she sleeps in a sleepsuit and a sleeping bag, or sometimes a padded sleepsuit no sleeping bag.
Any help would be great.
Sorry if this hasn't made sense, very tired!!
xxx

Can't really help you, sorry! BUT you're nnot alone! 2 nights ago hubby went to put his ear plugs in and I said, 'no, it's ok, he hardly makes any noise at night now, you don't need them' Well I was in trouble cos F did indeed make lots of noise at 4:30am when he was wide awake! I ignored F as he wasn't crying, just awake and chatting. He fell back asleep at 5:15 and then the cat started outside the bedroom door at 5:30am! And then you've seen on my fb what happenend last night! Woke up at 4:15am thinking it was a bit smelly in our room and F was awake and definately needed changing! Even his sleeping bag! Then he wouldn't go back to sleep til 5:30am. So, whilst this is of absolutely no help to you, you are not alone! The only thing I can think of for us is that it's got a couple of degrees colder and it down to 18/19 in our room. My money would be on weaning for you guys, starting that soon anyway aren't you?
xx

Hey hun,
I don't know if you saw my post the other day about sleep. I posted a link all about sleep. it was very interesting.
http://www.picknicksbrain.com/Guides/PickNicksBrain_FiveWaysToSTTN.pdf
Basically at around 4 months old babies sleep changes dramatically. They go from baby sleep to adult sleep. Before 4 months old they can sleep very deeply but at around 4 months they change to adult sleep which means they have sleep cycles therefore waking up more as they are in a lighter sleep.
I posted about William's sleep the other day as he has been waking up anywhere between 4:30am - 5:30am and not going back to sleep, just wide awake. Not hungry, just chatting away and wanting to get up!!!! He goes to bed at 6:30pm after bedtime routine then he wakes around 10pm for a "chat" (he never used to do this) then 5 mins later he is back off to sleep until between 1am - 3am for a feed sometimes he goes straight back off to sleep other times he is awake for about an hour then can be awake anywhere from 4:30am - 5:30am for the day!! Needless to say I am very tired. He has never slept through, well once after his 3rd set of injections.
Apparently it should get better but to be honest he has been doing this for over a week now. I don't mind him waking for a feed in the night as he does need it BUT it is the waking so early in the morning that is killing me. Also he used to go straight back down after his feed but now he can be awake chatting or crying for up to an hour before he goes back off.
I am just hoping it gets better soon.
Hope the link is of some interest to you.
x

I'm the same, I haven't had a full nights sleep since I was about 8 months pregnant with Jacb. He is 21 weeks old now and hasn't slept through yet. He wakes up at 10:30pm for a bottle, about 3am and then we are up for the day at 6:30am as that is when my hubby gets up for work which always wakes my 22 month old up. To make matters worse my 22 month old has had an ear infection and been suffering worse with it at night so he has been waking a couple of times too. So for the last week I have been up at least three times in the night sorting out one or other of them! *yawn*.
My first lo slept through from about 5 months old and Jacob is eating well and drinking lots of milk so no real reason why he isn't. Problem is I can't use the pick up put down controlled crying I used with my first lo as it will wake my first lo up!
Lets hope all our los start being good and sleeping through for their mummies very soon!!! xx

Thanks for your replies ladies.
Lo has slept off mand on today so I know she is tired and not getting enough sleep at night!!
I gave her a bowl of baby rice today, about 10am - she had a little bit on saturday so I knew she was ok on it. I sat with her on my lap and gave her some, whenever I took the spoon out of her mouth to get more she wimpered for more bless her! I made up 1 spoon of rice with 10 spoons of milk, but I added a bit more milk to make it not so lumpy, I didnt give it all to her as was still a bit nervous really. But she loved it!
Oh got home at 2 and I told him I thought she was ready for weaning and he agreed, so off we go!!
We will also go back to our bedtime routine tonight so hopefully I can get a decent nights sleep.
Oh is also going to start putting his socks and pants in the living room at night so that in the morning he can just get out of bed and then not come back into the bedroom so hopefully this will not disturb her either.
Stardust - thank you for the link, Im halfway through reading it, its really interesting, esp about how not to keep them awake during the day in order to try and get them to sleep longer at night. Thanks again hun xxx
