Subject : Slow heartbeat at early scan...

Hi ladies,
Well i went for my early scan (6+5) following an episode of spotting. Turns out that was caused by bruising and no major concern... but then I was told that the baby had a heartbeat - but was very slow - and the baby's sac is irregular in shape...so now have to go back in a fortnight for a follow up scan...

Anyone else had experience of this??

Thanks

I was told this at my first scan, I was also 6+5, they said my sac was a kidney shape rather than round. They didn't say much about the heartrate, but the baby was TINY so was really hard to see, all it looked like was a flickering and they said they would be have a better idea when the baby got a bit bigger. I went back at about 10 weeks and all was fine, sac was more rounded and the heartbeat was ticking away. I'm now 16 weeks and all is going well. xxxx

Heya. I had an early scan at 4 weeks and the little sac had a flat edge which concerned them. I went back a few weeks later and it had sorted itself out! I hope you get the outcome you want at your next scan. X x x
