Subject : Worried - please can someone help?

Hi ladies,

I have woken up this morning worried that something is wrong with my baby. I don't know why, I was fine yesterday. But then last night I *thought* my boobs looked a bit smaller. This morning, I thought the same thing. I have listened with my doppler and I can hear a heartbeat I think, but I'm even doubting that - it was definately distinct from the whoosh of the umbilical cord, and it sounds like a fast heartbeat but I am still worried. And even if it is it doesn't necessarily mean everything is ok does it?

I am 17+6 today, 2 weeks from my scan and it feels like 2 years. Has anyone else had shrinking boobs?! I didn't think that they would get smaller now that I'm second tri...

Sorry for waffling girls,

Kristen xx

Mine have stopped being quite so sore in the last few days. Please try not to worry - I think it's an anxious time for us all as our next scans approach.I remember feeling excited but hugely apprehensive at the last one and his is no differerent. Let's hope this is just symptoms (finally!) settling down!

Take care and try not to worry.

Hi Kristen

My boobs grew loads in first trimester and were pretty sore but in the second trimester they seemed to get a bit smaller and didn't really hurt at all. Then they had a few growth spurts and are now bigger and more sore again! It's just the different changes they go through at different times in your pregnancy.

Also, I've often had days where I woke up and just thought something was wrong...for no reason other than pregnancy is so difficult after mc and makes you paranoid.

(((((((hugs))))))))

You could always give your MW a ring and see if you can see her and get her to listen with a doppler for some reassurance although I'm sure it's the HB you found with yours Smile I'm sure she'd be understanding after everything you've been through.

Love NN 30 weeks today! xxx

I can completely empathise with the waking up and just feeling different... but try not to worry... if you really can't make it through the day, call you midwife or doctor, a quick check with their doppler is all it will take to put the smile back on your face...
I still wake up feeling like this but have to push it to one side, as I am now 32 weeks and can feel our little bean moving around... but still get the oh-no feeling..
Take great care of yourself... and try not to worry..
A xx

It's totally normal for your boobs to shrink down, It's the initial rush of hormones (HcG) that makes them swell in the first Tri, then they sometimes deflate a bit as the hormones level out and the placenta takes over all the hard work, then plump back up in the third tri! Mine have shrunk, which disappointed DH, but they will grow again, I've been there before!

If you are concerned, take yourself along to see the MW, and ask her to check baby's HB. However, even if bubs is in an awkward position and you can't get the heart yourself, the whooshing umbilicus lets you know everything is ok in there.

Please try not to panic yourself lovely!

Hi Kristen. I'm sure everything is fine. I have days like this too - i think we all do. And I remeber being exactly the same throughout my last pregnancy. It's just so hard not being able to see and hold your bub as you're always wondering if everything is ok. I know dopplers can be really hard to use so don;t worry about struggling to fing the hb with that. As Mrs S says, see if you can get a quick mw appointment if you're worried so that she can check everything properly.

(((hugs)))

Heu hun,

I am sorry your feeling like this. Try not too worry. My boomb havent grown at all and that makes me panic. If you are concerned ring your mw or GP and explain how you are feeling. I am sure everything is fine!

It is horrible being in limbo and not knowing especially when your mind runs away with you. everything i feel (or dont feel) makes me worry x

I feel totally the same some days. It's like I have good days and bad days. On the good days I am really excited and positive about things and on the bad days I'm just worried that something is wrong. I think we are just at hat stage of pregnancy where the first trimester hormones have settled and we feel quite 'normal' whatever that is.

Don't worry about moaning, we're all here for each other.

Hayley xx
