can we not fly? I'm going to Jamacia tomorrow! I thought it was ok but they won't let you fly after 30 weeks or something in case you went into labour...

I fly most weeks and my doctor has ok'd this as the flights I do are very short. They do have concerns about long haul in the first trimester (although I know plenty of people who have done so without a problem), as you are exposed to a greater level of radiation and also you are sitting still for a long period of time.
During the second trimester as long as you feel fit to do so there are no problems flying.
After the third trimester begins you need to check each individual airline you fly with as they vary in what week they will not allow you to fly and also some have cut off points where you need to provide a "fit to fly" certificate from your doctor or midwife.
I would speak to your doctor or midwife. Hope that helps.

Hi there
Each airline does differ slightly but mainly if you will be 28 weeks or under on your return date then its fine anything more then airlines will require a fitness to fly certificate. Best to double check with each individual airline to be sure.
I'm cabin crew and the airline i work for
will a carry you up to 34 weeks with your certificate.
I'm grounded at the moment and can't work, as Mrs Boo says the more flying you do exposes you to a greater increase in radiation and obviously opening doors and pushing and pulling carts dosen't help! Apart from that it is fine, i would recommend drinking plenty of water as you do dehydrate more and where possible get up and strech your legs.
Other than that enjoy!!!
Have a fab time in Jamaica designerbump!
