does anyone elses LO suck their thumb and have big red sucking marks lol??? Want him to stop sucking his thumb it looks sore bless him! Xxx

My son sucks his thumb so much, I'm afraid he's going to take it off! But it isn't sore.

To be very honest, it's a life saver for me. The second I see him suck his thumb, I know he's ready for a nap. I take him straight to bed, put him down and he cries a little cry, sucks his thumb and goes straight off to sleep. Oh joy, Oh bliss!! xx

i wish Oliver sucked his thumb, save me from putting his dummy back in his mouth all night long!!!! xxx

oh bless Josh! Grace does every now and then but think its more easy access to get to her sore gums really...she has a dummy for naps / night time.

Could be worse- I used to suck my arm!! (I admit I still do especially when I'm really tired) I still have a lovebite type mark there.

I wish my girls sucked their thumbs. It'd save the hassle of making sure I have dummies with me!
I sucked my thumb at night until I was about (*cough*) 12 and I always had a red wrinkly mark on my thumb where I used to suck/chew it quite hard. It was never really sore but looked gross.
Within a few weeks of stopping I remember it completely disappearing and I'm not scarred or anything so don't worry hun xxx

all i can say is BEWARE!i sucked my thumb until i was 15 yes years not months,hence why i gave jessica a dummy much to grannys disgust i hated not being able to stop and always used it to get to sleep.jessica does this sometimes but like daddy also twiddles bibs and labels!not that daddy twiddles bibs but material x

Yes Jed sucks his sometimes. I decided not to give him a dummy as I'm still trying to wean Mia off hers at night (at 2 1/2)! I hate it so much but can't bring myself to go cold turkey. x

I suppose it's good then as he has never really liked his dummy he has now for the second week started to self settle to sleep and has not had a dummy since he started that! Xxx

Laila loved her dummy didnt think id get it off her, but she started giving us sleepless nights as she was knocking it out trying to get the thumb in, she now randomly will suck either thumb, but prefers her left, and alwasy strokes the back of her head with her other hand, not sure where that bit came from but shes always doing it xxx
