Hi,

I think my 3.5 month old baby has been suffering from diarrhea Confused. I am 100% breastfeeding and they say diarrhea is very unusual in breastfed babies but he has gone from one poo every few days (his record is 11 days!!!) to pooping after each feed. If it was just the increase in frequency, I would not worry as I know babies' bowel movements change time to time but it's the actual poos that bother me. They are very loose, greenish with a lot of mucus in it... Basically, it doesn't look like a very healthy poo.

Has any of your LO's suffered from anything like this and how long did it last? Should I take him to the doctor's?

Thanks

Diarrhea

hi, unfortunately my lo suffered from diahorrea from a few weeks, up until about 11mths! it started as they thought she had a gluten intollerance- she is 14mths now and still under consultant care, she had all the allergy tests done last mth and they found nothing!? so still none the wiser really, but she has greatly improved since turning 1. im not to sure what to advise but i would def mention it to ur hv nxt time u see her and she what she suggests. xxx

Diarrhea

Hi,

My LO is nearly 9 nine weeks and has suffered from diarrhea since Friday night. I took her to the doctors yesterday as was worried about her getting dehydrated. He said she has a stomach upset and i had to sop her feeds for 24 hours and give her hydration sachets. She is bottlefed though so am not sure what to suggest with breastfeeding.

If it lasts more than 24 hours i would take him to the doctors. Smile

Sarah x
