Subject : Maybe TMI - Mucus plug - don't read whilst eating lunch
Hello ladies,
After a couple of weeks of frantic knicker checking I think that I have finally lost my mucus plug, or at least some of it! I have had a bit of gloopy discharge over the last few days that was tinged with browny pink and sort of gluey looking. Then today I had a bigger blob about the size of a medium marble that was sort of light brown in colour and stringy and sticky. It's hard to describe it but it was a bit like a rolled up ball of old glue
Has anyonre else had this yet? If so how big was it for you? I've read that it can be clear, brown or pinky in colour so I'm pretty sure that's what it was. Well put it this way if it wasn't then God only knows what it was
I know this doesn't mean that labour is imminent but at least its a sign. Baby is due tomorrow, would be amamzing if it came on time

Oh how exciting Em! Sounds like a plug to me!! Actually my MW said to me dont confuse a PLUG with a SHOW!! Plug doesnt have to be anything but muscus colour, when it has a bit of blood (red or brown) then that is classed as a show and as soon as you do have that colour its a pretty good sign baby is soon to make an arrival!!! Yipeeee!!
So, best get yourself organised :-) get your bag ready, iron your clothes your gonna wear to/from hospital, give yourself a pedicure etc etc! ha ha....after all you are about to be a yummy mumy! :-) Wahooo! Sorry I just have a good feeling for u!

Hey,
Sounds promising but I'm not sure. I didn't see my 1st so no idea this time what to look for.
Can't believe your due tomorrow!!!
Where has the time gone?! I really hope we all still talk after all the births! Is everything ready for your home birth?

I thought the release of the mucus plus was a show? Well... learn something new every day! So what's the "rule" then... you can sit back and wait if it's just the plug, and dance up and down with excitement if it is a bit blood and a show?
What are you doing right now Em?!
xx
39wks today and in search of my show!

Sorry for the gross description hahahaha!
I'm not sure if the plug and the show are the same thing, either way I think I've had both, or at least a prolonged one or the other - if that makes sense
I'm a bit excited but don't want to get my hopes up as I could still have 11 days to go if I go the max number of days over.
My iPod is now charged, camera in bag, just need to work out what I'm going to wear in and out of hospital and I think I'm finally there!!
Will keep you updated but I'm not holding my breath.
Lol at Nici - yeah definitely not the sort of thing other people on FB want to read about

Sim....I thought exactly the same as you but to be honest I'm just confused now! She said dont ring me if theres no blood in it but call me if you see blood as then your having a show. When I told her it was more mucus, she said oh thats just the plug starting to come away!!! Aghhh CONFUSED!!! Sorry if i have confused you all too!!! I guess the rule is....look for blood! xxxxx

I know there's a concern, if you call it that- maybe interest is a better word, when there is a bit of blood. So I have heard too before that they need to know when that happens (I think to monitor in case of placenta coming away or it being a sure sign that things are happening with the birth). On the other hand, I guess just mucus and no blood could mean it may be starting.
In saying all that, some girls dont lose their plug until delivery! So perhaps we just follow the "rule" of..if you see blood or bloody discharge or your waters break or your contractions start and get to 3 mins apart then you are ready to GO!
I hope my husband knows all this!!
So any word from Emily today? Is bubs making an on time appearance today??

Nope no news ladies I'm afraid :(
Seems like a certain little one doesn't know what today is! I'm trying to keep busy and active, OH is working from home today so at least I have some company. Mind you, saying that, he's out washing his car and I'm watching crappy Doctors
After counting down for the last 40 weeks I'm on the last countdown now and that's 12 days to induction - if needs be of course!!
Come on Walnut, it's supposed to be your Birthday today my beautiful baby xxx

Thanks Em, I'm all ready now, just wish baby was too. Had a nice long bath last night, saved legs, cut toe nails etc :D
Then today I have plucked eye brows, filed finger nails, got to the bottom of the laundry bin.....well except a jumper that needs handwashing hee hee! You wait so long for this day and then when it arrives it's a bit of an anti-climax to be honest. Apparently only 5% of babies come on their due date and 75% are late so all that hoping that it will come early is very much in vain I'm afraid.
Tick tock tick tock......

Aw come on Baby Pee... we are waiting!!!
At least your ready to go!! I just painted my finger nails as got a new nail varnish! Haven't painted my fingers in years!! I told OH to inspect them if i go into labour in the next day or soo and if they are hipped i have shown him where the nail varnish remover is!! And 'GET IT OFF' my nails was the phrase!! But as you said 75% of babies are late so should have a bit more time :-)

I had a show at 36 weeks last time and then nothing and baby was born at 40+3. So who knows? I'm not set on having one this time as it really makes no difference. I did have more of a show at 40+2 when i was in labour so i think it's just waiting on it all adding up. I'm afraid that I have no idea what to expect this time as it was so long and awful last time that I can only hope its a better labour this time. x
