Pointless post but last night Bertie slept from 9pm to 6.30am, what a little star!

I am so proud of him and thought he would wake up screaming but he was so happy smiling as soon as he saw me and when I was changing his nappy!

What a sweetheart!

Georgie and Bertie 12 weeks

Yay, way to go Bertie. Its great when they start sleeping through isnt it.

Lucy has been sleeping through from about 9 weeks, she goes down at 7.30 and thats her to 7.30-8.00am.

Newlook I used to have to keep putting the dummy back in but I've stopped it as it was happening all the time. She has not learned to get herself back to sleep which is great.

I am formula feeding, I recently changed from Aptamil comfort formula to Aptamil Hungry Food.

I only pop dummy in when he wakes but I try to only do it if he doesnt settle himself, I think he just wakes out of habit. If he wont settle then I will feed him but I try not to

im not sure if bf makes a diff, the only thing is by bottle feeding i know she has 5/6oz before she oes down whereas bf you cant tell how much they have had so might fall asleep and wake up sooner if you know what i mean?

I might try putting her down without her dummy that way it wont wake her up when it drops out, she doesnt need it to fall asleep i think its more habit on my half.

MKB George is breastfed and slept through for the first time dead on 10 weeks, he didn't do it again until the following week but has been sleeping from 7-5 for the past 4 nights, so it is possible on breast milk! I'm sure it will happen soon x x

I'm formula feeding and Jack has just started to sleep for 7 hours. If he's fed at 8ish then he's up at 3ish for a feed, but is only taking a few ounces and nodding straight off back to sleep until 6:30-7:30am. He's having less and less during the night so think he'll drop that feed soon.

Ps I've found that he's slept soooo much better since I've strarted putting him to bed after his last bottle. He's still in our room but been putting him to bed when he's sleepy and putting his mobile on. He sometimes hicks a little so I just pat him and then hide out his eye line then he drops off! Bless.....

Hi Kirsty - we started to put Lily pstairs after last feed at 7 ish as well and she drops off to sleep and thats when she started sleeping though on Sunday, she still stirs in the night but soon as i pop her dummy in she goes straight back to sleep but i must do this about 20 times in the night, do u think maybe she still wants a bottle even though she doesnt cry for it? I feel more tired putiing dummy in all night than just feeding her once and being awake for an hour.

I tried to put Jack off too newlook but his little tummy must have been rumbling as he kept waking up every half an hour or so. He can go 7 hours but that's about as much as he can - which I'm very impressed with as Brad used to only go about 2 hours at 10 weeks! If he goes to bed at 8pm he often gets up between 3am and 4am. I feed him in our room with only the bathroom light on and dont change him so he's still half asleep. He sometimes only has about 3-4oz then is flat out! Whole process takes about 30 mins and then I'm back to sleep! Once he gets a little older then I'll try him with water for his night feed then drop it down to the dummy but for now, I still think he's genuinely hungry when he wakes. I then find he'll sleep until about 6:30-7:30am and often wake up in a lovely mood.

Georgie - I see Bertie is on the hungry baby milk. Jack is too and he's so much happier! I've done it against HV's advice but it's worked a treat....

Pleased he's sleeping through for you now as it's so nice to get some sleep! ha ha x

mkb
breast milk isn't a stodgy as formula so they do tend to wake more at night to begin with cuz they digest it better. make sure you feed well last thing and it should keep them going longer. riley is bfed and he only wakes once and only for 5 mins max and has done since 10 weeks. keep persevering you're doing a great job
