Subject : loss of feeling in my arm
Morning,
Ive been up about an hour now and due to be very uncomfy i am sat in my rocking/feeding chair. As i am sat here i got pins and needles in my hand although i am in no way holding my hand funny or trapping any part of my arm etc. I sat forward etc and the loss of feeling is now travelling up the arm to my shoulder. I am still use my hand its not full pins and needles but it cant really feel touch on my hand and it feels like just after you have had pins and needles and you are getting the feeling back except mines not returning its staying like that
Any ideas or anyone had this?

Hello,
I lost the feeling in both my arms and legs over the weekend. I had a bug and thought that was the reason but the bug cleared and yesterday I couldn't feel my left arm. It was really heavy and numb?!
No idea what it is?

I have numbness in my left thumb and a bit in my arm. Then when i put pressure on the thumb it zings like it does when you stand on your foot after it goes to sleep. Mine is due to a shoulder injury as its also twinned with horrendous shoulder pain! Ive had this since 21 weeks and baby dropping has now made it unbearable off to the docs for me this aft if I can get in!
Come out baby!

Sounds like carpal tunnel syndrome, it's no big deal but can be painful/make your arm numb, it's v.common in pregnancy.

It does sound like carpal tunnel syndrome, I had the exact same symptoms the other week. It started off with a numb thumb and forefinger, like pins and needles got progressively worse and suffered a constantly aching arm for a couple of days. It's basically due to water retention and causes compression on the nerve in your wrist. There are a couple of exercises you can try, they worked for me anyway. Rotating and moving your hands up and down, clenching and releasing your hand, pretty much exercises that will get the fluid moving. I also found that sleeping with a straight arm i.e. no bent elbow and wrist really helped. It was quite easy to do resting the whole arm on a pillow. It cleared up after a couple of days and I've not had anything since. You're doctor should be able to give you some advice but if it gets any worse make sure you go back. There are medical treatments but exercise helped my symptoms.
