Hiya,

I had two sweeps and had a lot of show after them but nothing else so I was induced at 41+5 in the end. I know they work for many ladies though. Good luck!

I had a sweep at 39 weeks - lost plug - nothing happened.

Had another at 40 weeks but different doctor and it was rubbish it didnt even feel uncomfortable, else i think it would have worked.

Final one at 40+6 was a good sweep and uncomfortable at 10am and my waters went at 6pm that night xxx

I dont think mine were classed as full "sweeps" but i went to hospital twice and had internals.....one at 40+2 and the other at 40+4. After the first i lost my plug and after the second 6 hours later my waters went. Obviously ive no iproof if it was due to the internals or not, but i believe it was.
Good luck, hope it works xxxx

I had a sweep at 37 weeks ( i was 1cm and suffering from pre-eclmapsia) The next day I had some period type pains and a show. I then had another one done on the Saturday (they were going to try one last time before my induction on the Sunday)) This was done at 2pm, my waters broke at 8.30 and my son was born at 3.33am.

i had a several sweeps from 40+ weeks lost my plug but nothing happened, but for some women they can be very helpful. they do say the more over due u are the more likely they are to work, my mw was supposed to do it at 40+1 (was borderline PE) but when she came shee said i wasn't over due enough, but then sent me to hospital cos bp was up and they did one anyway lol. folowed by lots and lots of internals!

Hi- I had a sweep at 1 week over (1st baby) on the monday at 4pm. Got cramps straight away and a bit of blood then stopped overnight and I woke up in the morning with nothing (very upset as i hoped it would work) then 8pm on tuesday cramps came back and I had my baby at 11.30 pm.

Good luck xx

I lost my plug on the Sat, had a sweep on the Tues at 39+5, had mild contractions all Weds, my waters broke early hours of Thurs and she was with us by Thurs afternoon at 40 weeks Happy

Don't know if she would have come then anyway, though. Good luck!
