Hi, here are a couple that people gave to me, hope they help
The other side of midnight, not so many miles away,
Wrapped in hazy memories, our newborn babies play.

Tended safe by unknown hands, in a place we cannot see,
Our babies live another life, from earthly cares set free.

From the other side of midnight, they visit us in sleep,
Caress our grief with infant hands, when in our dreams we weep.

Though in our darkest days we seem, a million miles apart,
In time we learn that other place is really in our hearts.

The other side of midnight, at last we learn to see,
Our babies live within us, cradled in our memory.

and

An angel was sent from heaven above,
A special one that would bring much love
God knew that this precious life would be short
So he looked around for a tender heart.

He made his choice and the gift was sent
In what seemed like a moment the angel went,
Leaving treasured memories and a heart full of pain,
A void an abyss, tears flowed like rain
But.....

Wait just a moment I wish you could see,
The wonderful thing that has happened to me
Jesus was waiting his arms open wide
And he and his angels brought me inside
Such a beautiful place that I cannot describe
A new home for me from the moment I died.

I'll wait here for you so dry up your tears
And go bravely on with your life free from fears
Know that God's near you to help and to guide
He'll never desert you he's there by your side
So speak to him daiily from inside your heart
And let him assure you, we're not really apart.

Hope you find something suitable xxx

I like this one. I hope that the funeral goes as well as it can. It is indeed an honour that your friend has asked you to read a poem and I am sure you will do her proud. I am so sorry to hear of her loss.

George35, x

Don't stand at my grave and weep, for I am not there,
I've a date with a butterfly to dance in the air.
I'll be singing in the sunshine, wild and free,
Playing tag with the wind, while I'm waiting for thee.

This is fairly general but we had it for our daughters.

If tears could build a stairway
And memories were a lane
We would walk right up to Heaven
And bring you back again
No farewell words were spoken
No time to say goodbye
You were gone before we knew it
And only God knows why
Our hearts still ache in sadness
And secret tears still flow
What it meant to lose you
No on will ever know
But know we know you want us
To mourn for you no more
To remember all the happy times
Life still has much in store
Since you’ll never be forgotten
We pledge to you today
A hallowed place within our hearts
Is where you’ll always stay
