Hi there
read a little bit about your other problems over on preg!
As you probably remember Max eas born at 34 weeks - he wouldn't feed but after 7days in scbu and 8 days tube fed we came home after 10 days and he was fine! He never needed any help with breathing and he is now an ordindary 23 month old - a bit on the small side but neither me or hubbies is massive so he was never gonna be huge.
I think your likely to be earlier than that aren't you?? I am sure it will all work out best for you and Joseph whatever happens!
Baby super glue (and all sorts of other healing vibes for you headig your way!!!)

Sorry, taken me a minute to realise your old name hon. Had wondered where you were-hope you and Max are well.
tbh i am not sure at all, i have a number of meetings coming up-my cardio is keen that baby is out soon however i am only 25 weeks and i am sure my obs will not be happy about too early and neither am i.
I think its just going to be weighing up the optimum time for delivery-30weeks+ i am praying for.
Do you mind me asking if Max was on breast milk or formula?xxx

Hey there
Changed name without a mention to avoid poss detection by a relative!
Max was exclusively bf till 10.5 months when he self weaned! It was hard work initially expressing and tube feeding but for us well worth it - are you hoping to bf this time without lo having reaction to it???

Hi
my daughter was born at 26 weeks and weighed 1lb 15 oz. she was about 11 inches long. She was ventilated for the first 2 days then CPAP then back on ventilator for a week due to pneumonia. She came home at 16 weeks old on oxygen as she had BPD (broncho pulmonary dysplasia or chronic lung disease). apart from the BPD and being really susceptible to chest infections, she has been really good. she is small, she will be 3 in Feb but is still in 12-18 month clothes, but she is about average in her development for her corrected age of 30 months.
I have known babies that got home before their due date and had no health problems at all so try not to worry too much.
Hope you make it past 30 weeks
hugs
Lauren

ah i see hon,i am seriously thinking about bf,hoping to be successful have spoken to mw about going lactose free as my main concern is i will have the same probs that i did with ruby.
After speaking to a lot of family members there have only been 3 babie sin the last 20 years that are not lactose intolerant.
Hi Lauren, thank you for replying, your little one sounds like she has done brilliant what a little fighter.
Its good to hear how well she has done, being born so soon.
May i ask if there was a reason she came so early or did you just go into labour?xxx

Hi there
thanks, she is a wee fighter.
i had a show at 25 weeks and was found to have an incompetent cervix. I got the steroid shots and was on complete bedrest for a week to try to stop it but i went into labour at 25+6 and had Emily next day. it was a natural delivery and they had to break my waters.
how about you? would it be an elective caesarean?
there is a post on here about breastfeeding preemie babies

Hmmm i am not sure really, i was induced at 36+ with my dd but ended up in an emsc however i was offered and indcued vbac this time but that was before the heart problem/blood clot etc were discovered so i am not sure if thats going to have an effect.
My cardio doesnt seem to keen on a vbac but obviously he will have to discuss his concerns with my obs and go from there.
I did go into labour at about 26 weeks with my dd but they stopped her-luckily.
I am not too concerned at method of delivery, though would like to try a vbac.

Hiya
My DD was born at 33+2, and weighed in at good 4lb (1.838kg).
She needed no help breathing, most likely as I had been given both sets of steroids to help mature her lungs, and spent about a week in an incubator before moving into a cot in SCBU. About the only issue we encountered was jaundice but this is not unusual in term babies, and I consider us lucky to have had a smooth ride so early on. DD left SCBU to come home after 3 and a half weeks, at 37 wks.
She appears to be developing perfectly normally and is bright as a button, and is in between her prem and corrected age development-wise. Now at 12 months she crawls superfast and is happily cruising about, can say quite a few words and understands quite a lot!
Hope baby stays put as long as poss for you
Iz & Skye x

Thanks ladies,it really is good to hear such positive outcomes for your little ones.
Glad they are all doing so well.
I have the doctor later and obs on thur-so should know more then.
the sensible part of we is saying to go against my cardio(who wants baby out asap) but the part of me that is selfish says to go with him.
I cant breath, cant walk, cant lift my 15month old, cant make a cup of tea without going dizzy-breathing is so hard(sorry to complain).
Plus getting scared the more i think of a blood clot. . .xxxx

my dd was born at 32 +5 weighing a hefty 4lb 11oz. i only had 1 lot of steroids as she came very fast. she was born less than 2 hours after it. she needed no help with breathing or oxygen, she came out and cried straight away. they wisked her away to check her but then gave er back to me for a cuddle before they took her to scbu. she was tube fed solely for 2 days then was introduced to the bottle and was taking 1 bottle a day then 2 until she was having all bottle feeds. she had to spend some time under the lights for jaundice. she was in scbu for 19 days and came home 3 days before i would have been 36 weeks

hi, altho my ds was born overdue, a close friend of mine has just had a very prem baby by em c section, born at 27 weeks! she went into prem labour after her waters broke (she's had the same happen twice before with other babies, but they were some what earlier, first at 18 weeks, and second at 23 weeks) despite having a cervical stitch no one tiought she wld make it, not that eraly, but 14 weeks on, she's still in scbu, but she is due to be home in the next 1-2 weeks, she's had afew set backs, kidney infection which caused her weight to drop and subsequently went back to tube feeding, but she's come thru the woods now and is doing marvellously, she wld have been due on october 31st, so theoretically she shld only be 1 week old, its hard to get my head round the fact she's 14 weeks old but its amazing how well she is doing! xx
