Subject : Think our baby is gone ( SORRY IF TMI)
Im nearly ten weeks pregnant and had been having bright yellow/ light brown mucus for about a week. Went to the doctors a few days ago and she said she thought it was ok, just normal pregnancy mucus. Then yesterday I had quite a lot of bright red blood suddenly at work (soaked through trousers) followed by sharp cramping for about an hour and a work friend took me to casualty. They couldnt tell me either way if I was miscarrying and told me to go home and call the midwife. As I was at a meeting about an hour from home when this happened I wasnt at my local hospital so I think they just fobbed me off and said they couldnt justify doing a scan as it was too expensive and it could be misleading on the first day you bleed anyway. My midwife has arranged for me to go to the local hospital this morning for a scan- I havent got an appoointment - just got to sit there until they can fit me in between appointments :( Im still bleeding but its getting lighter. Not sure if I had any clots yesterday as I was in shock when it happened and couldnt make myself look down the toilet. Feeling really sad and scared

Broodybabe,
I'm sorry to hear what you're going through, and I'm sorry you haven't had any replies yet-this tends to be quite a quiet forum. I typed a reply this morning but computer crashed before it posted and this is the first chance I've had at work to reply again.
Unfortunately, only a scan will be able to tell you what's going on and it's terrible that the hospital staff were so unhelpful when you sought their advice yesterday. It does sound like you've bled quite a lot, but, not all bleeding is bad news, as scary as it is. Quite a few girls on here have bled and been ok.
I really hope that you are one of the lucky ones.
Hope you've been seen by now and that everything's ok x

have you had your scan yet? are you ok? I really really hope you're one of the lucky ones who goes on fine after a bleed, keeping everything crossed for you.

Just wanted to update you all and hope that this will help other people who are anxious and in the same position.
I went for a scan yesterday morning at my local hospital. We had to wait three hours to have one as I had to be fitted in between one of the booked appointments. It was really hard as I was sat around lots of couples going for their regular scans and we had this awful feeling of dread.
By the time we got in for the scan hubby and I were prepared to hear the worst and were expecting the doctor to say "im sorry but..."
So we were so surprised when she turned the screen round and said "look, baby is fine!" and there was this tiny little baby on the screen with a strong heart beat wiggling its legs and arms around! I didnt think that at 9 and a half weeks it would look more than a blob still! Then it lifted an arm like it was waving and that was it, hubby and I were blubbing our eyes out!
Apparently Ive had quite a bad bleed at the front and the scan shows a grey mass in front of the baby. Im still bleeding, but its got a lot lighter and the doctor says, although it could get worse again in the next couple of days and I could still lose the baby, its got a very good chance.
Im trying to keep a PMA and keeping my fingers crossed! Hubby wont let me do anything, or even move off the sofa this weekend, so hed be a bit cross if he knew I was on the computer! ( hes gone to do the food shop)
Hope this gives anyone else i the same position hope :)
