:evil:It looks like I will not be moving into the new house at the end of november, and I'm refusing point blank to move in December, we have too much on, especially with hubby's work, plus its not fair on dd at Christmas. I can't imagine enjoying making xmas dinner in a half done kitchen with bare walls. I am so annoyed. It also means I will need to put back tcc. Sad

The people we are buying the house from are getting divorced and they can't decide on which of their lawyers have to deal with the house sale. :xThey are being twisted, you would think they would want to sell the house and be rid of one another!!! The worst of it is I was going to hand my notice in today, so I would be out of here by end of november, and I would have been homeless!!!! It means we need to start from the beginning as the couple involved need to get a 3rd lawyer to deal with it, so our written offer etc has to be resent!! It also means the house remains on the market so someone else could put in a better offer Frown I am so annoyed, angry and gutted at the same time. I'd even started packing!! I will need to hold off tcc for even longer. I'll not be part of the winter gang anymore unless I can convince hubby to still try in January, I doubt he will though as he wants the house to be sorted out first

Sorry for the rant and well done if you made it this far!!! xx Frown

That totally sucks!!! Househunting is the devil's work. I would be absolutely fuming if I was in your shoes (the shoes would also be fancy).

My advice would be to start on the husband brainwashing now, so that you can start ttc anyway. After all, you don't know how long it will take to conceive, OR how long it will take to move, so why wait? Worse case scenario (without trying to upset you more) is that the house move falls through totally, but takes month to fall through cos of the whole 3rd solicitor nonsense. Then you would have put off ttc needlessly. So I say -start bedding!

Hope it works out for you.

thanks moonandstars. I have been trying to brainwash my hubby for the last year and no joy so far!! Originally we were starting tcc after the wedding in september, I came off the pill, but hubby wasn't happy and wanted to wait until we had a big enough house, we currently live in a rented 2 bed with dd. So after loads of huffing on my part I decided to wait, then when we put in an offer on this 3 bed house which got accepted, we decided (him rather reluctantly), that I could come off the pill in January. That was when he thought we would have moved in by nov. Now it looks like the move will need to get put back until the new year so tcc will probably have to wait. I just know he won't want to try before we are 'settled'.

Any ideas on how to persuade him otherwise?

Awww MFS- that's poo. Moving is always such a pain. I hope time really flies for you hun, its good news that OH is getting broody though, you neve know he might be the one pushing it forward soon!

Your not alone in the delaying of ttc hun, you and I might have to start our own gang- the 'Perhaps winter but maybe not' gang! I don't know though. I';m having a major wobble. Its a long story with loads of factors but I still feel we have things we need to sort out...some smaller financial stuff but also emotional stuff- I had PND quite severely after my dd and I am really worried about getting it again. I sometimes don't feel strong enough just yet...this all came out in a discussion with dh where we decided we were going to start TTC this month!!!!
So, all the worrying had quashed my broody a bit. It might be back soon and if so, we shall go for it, but I can't go for it if I don't feel ready- I want everything to be right this time and be as relaxed and ready for pg as possible.

Oh and also we can still be in the winter gang because its officially winter until March!!!!

So, your not alone hunny,
xxxxx

thanks CC I'm sure you will get your broody back soon. I can totally understand where you are coming from, my hubby feels the same, that he wants everythig to be perfect before tcc. Take your time and start when you are ready, ideally wait on me, lol xx

oh, hun sorry that it's not all going to plan!
Can't you try suggesting that by trying in January you're setting yourselves a reasonable time limit on completing the house, renovating, etc. In my experience (my dad's a plumber and brothers an electrician) men rarely get anything finished properly in their own homes unless they have a goal/time limit, so the birth of a baby would be a perfect time limit to set on him! Have the solicitors already done a lot of the work, surverys, etc, I know when we were selling our house it was a right pain in the ar$e! We sold five times, fell through four, the fourth buyer had already had the valuations/surveys, etc done and our solicitor had already done alot of paperwork on our end, and so on the fifth buyer we were desperate for it to go through quickly, and so the solicitors managed to come to some kind of arrangement on supplying and swapping the documents, I think we did it in about 5 weeks!
Is it possible that you could move in in December and maybe go to either of your parents for xmas, at least then you would be able to get the kitchen started, you wouldn't have to delay ttc and you wouldn't have the stress of cooking! (I will do anything to get out of cooking! lol!) Charlie_chalk - maybe we need a new thread - the 'possible winter gang' lol!
Looks as though things may be ok on the job front, finding out tomorrow if there's any jobs going where my mum works, if there is it would be two nights every other week, so may still be on for TTC in January, but then would have to give it a break during feb/mar, because there's already too much going on in end Nov/beginning of December, I don't think we could afford to have one then! So it will be a question of whether we try Jan if I have a job, or whether I settle in properly and just wait until mar/apr anyway, so if winter lasts til March, is that the beginning or end of?? lol!
For purely selfish reasons though, I'd prefer both of you to hang on,as I don't want to be on this board all by myself! Sad

*****UPDATE****

Thanks for all the replies ladies. Hi JT (((waves))). I hope you and bump are keeping well. Good idea about the condoms. Well things have been (fingers crossed) sorted out. The entry date has been changed to the 27th. So hopefully tcc will go as planned but we will just need to wait and see. Mustbmad, the survey is done, mortgage secured and deposit ready. I've even handed in my notice so if things don't go as planned I'm screwed!!!
