Subject : My little jetsetter

Got a phonecall off oh's Mum yesterday asking if she could take Rhys on holiday with them next year. They're going to Potugal and she was thrilled when we said yes. She didn't think I would have wanted him to go, but as much as I'll miss him can't deny him a holiday. He'll also have his little cousin going too as Jay's sister is going to with her little boy who'll be about 18 months.

Must say am feeling rather jealous, especially when we saw the pictures of the villa and it's HUGE. We stayed at my aunties last year and that has 4 bedrooms and is really nice but this made that look like nothing ha ha.

They're going for a week. She did say we could have gone too, but they might be going in April which means baby will only be 2 months old and don't really fancy travelling with such a small baby lol.

Sounds lovely. I would NEVER allow my mil to take zachariah off anywhere, you're such a good dil lol! It's nice Rhys is the sort that will be happy in other peoples company, I left oh with zachariah for 2minutes (literally) and he was balling his eyes out, am very worried about how playgroup is going to go down!

lol wfb, I'm the same with my MIL! She is a pain in the bum and constantly stirring or telling fibs. I have left Bren with my Mum for a few hours and although I trust her I wouldn't leave Bren with her for a week as he doesn't know her so well since we live abroad.
Hopefully playgroup with do Zach lots of good, you will probably find after a couple of weeks he loves it x

Rhys is great can leave him with anyone and he's fine (not that we do lol) He stays at my parents every other Friday cause both me & Jay are in work so easier for him to stay than pick him up at 11pm and he's going to spend more time at Jay's mum's to get a bit more used to being on his own with her.
I know I'll just be wreck the whole time though ha ha
When I was younger I was always going away without my mum & dad cause my aunty & uncle used to take me everywhere with them and I loved it ha ha

Sounds wonderful (the holiday not the lack of lie-ins) - hope you can enjoy the time with the baby and not worry too much (chance will be a fine thing eh?!)... my mum will be 80 next year so she couldn't cope with looking after the 2 little ones but her and dad used to look after Tristan when he was little a couple of times a month and it was great to have some 'me' time.... Like some of the others I wouldn't leave the little ones with my mil either!! xx

Reading this has made me realise how lucky I am to be able to trust both lots of parents with Rhys. Jay's Mum thinks Rhys is great to look after as she's used to having her daughters baby all the time and he won't sleep for more than an hour at a time so she thought it was amazing when rhys stayed and slept through til 8am for her.
