Subject : Silly question.... how do you heat up

Just got the wee one home and he's on Aptamil. It says to make each bottle fresh but what do you do during the night?

Boiling the kettle, letting it sit for 30 mins then making up the bottle is not an option. He'd scream the place down. I know some people make up bottles and put them in the fridge but how do you take the chill off them?

Thanks

I put the water in the sterilised bottle and leave on the side at room temperature. If the bottle and contents are sterile then they shouldn't really need refridgerating if they're going to be used within 24 hours.
When we were doing night feeds for the girls, I used to take up the bottles with water in and the tub of formula to the nursery. When they woke, I'd just add the powder, shake and feed. I definitely couldn't have been stumbling downstairs in the middle of the night to warm bottles :) xx

Congrats on your arrival!! I asked a similar question to this the other day.

Haivng had lots of advice from the girls on here i now make up my feeds, then cool them down and put them in the fridge. Then at night feed time i get it out the fridge, boil kettle and pur water into a jug/saucepan. I then put bottle in to warm it.

Im not sure what bottles you are using, but my Mum bought us an electric travel warmer by tommee tippee. Its brilliant and we have strated using that aswell. You put a bit of cold water in it, put bottle inside then plug in. It takes 4 mins if that, and its heated up to perfect temp!!

Hope this helps.....check my thread on how to make up formula....it may help aswell xxx

congratz

i always heat up and/or cool down by putting either hot water (or cold water) in a jug and placing the bottle of water in the said jug. i make all my bottles in the morning. sterilise bottles, pour in the freshly boiled water and then i leave on the side until i need them, morning one i need to cool down tho as he wants that almost straight away but the others he now takes at room temp so no need to heat. the bottle are always used with in 12hours of boiling the kettle in the morning and i only ever add the powder right before the feed. also, if u've only ever bottle fed then u shldn't need to heat the milk anyway, breastfed babies prefer formula to be warmed so it's same temperature as breastmilk but ff babies don't know any different.
