Subject : Hi
Hi im due today and will be bottlefeeding from the start due to both medical and personal reasons. I was just wondering how everyone was made to feel in hospital if they made the decision to bottlefeed from the start. Also how were your friends and family about this?
Im not really sure why i am worrying so much about it cos at the end of the day its my decision but am starting to make myself feel guilty before the situation is even here!
Sorry for post but just wanted some of your own experiences, advice and opnions?
Mic
40 weeks today!
xx

Hi MicMic, I just wanted to say don't worry, when I made the decision to bottlefeed straightaway in hospital they were absolutely fine with it, mind you I was still drowsy from the gas and air that even if they did I wouldn't have paid any attention hehe.
I think the midwives realise that straight after labour is probably not the best time for a lecture lol.
Seriously though I wouldn't worry, I was never made to feel bad for choosing to bottlefeed from anyone other than my hubby's mum and step dad and couldn't care less what they thought anyway.
So honestly you will be fine, also its your decision and you have to remember that you made that decision for a reason, if you are happy with the decision you've made you will have a happy baby I promise you :-)
Good luck xx

Hiya,
All my midwives bar one were really supportive when I gave in on breastfeeding and as I got bad baby blues it was her opinion I took on board so I got really down about it. It didn't help that people would ask how I was feeding lo and I felt bad for saying bottle.
Upshot was I got very down and burst into tears infront of my parents and hubby who were genuinely surprised. The general consensus was that I was giving lo some great grub, he was happy and to hell with what anyone else thought. Hubby could do feeds, which he really enjoys and we could leave him with the grandparents while we caught up on sleep, which they also love.
All in all, bottlefeeding has been great for us - except for the washing up!! - so stick to your guns and don't let anyone make you feel bad xx
