Subject : Volume of milk question
We are still writing down how much my baby girl (12 weeks now) takes as we had a breastfeeding problem at the start & she lost too much weight and had to go back to hospital.
Anyway I noticed yesterday that I make her bottles up with 150ml water and 5 scoops of aptamil 1 and when it is made up its a total of around 180ml once the powder has dissolved. So for the last 5 weeks when she has been on supplemented formula and we have been thinking she is having around 150 has she in fact been having more?

We have this debate with my Mummy friends! They say that because its 7ozs of water and 7-scoops of powder, that the bottle is 7ozs. But when its all mixed together it makes up 8ozs - so I say the amount drunk is 8ozs because that is the actual VOLUME of milk the baby has had!
That's how we note down all of T's bottles anyway!

We have this debate too! I always leave it at 7oz as he usually brings some of it back anyway so it's probably a better measure for us!
You know what I also don't get? On the packet it say to add 7 scoops to 7oz or 210ml of water but if you look on the bottle 7oz is only just 200ml.
