Subject : cot/cotbed to bed

Having just read a post in toddler has just got me thinking - how many of us now have lo in a bed?? were they in a cot or cotbed before that??

Chloe seems quite content in her cotbed as it is so we haven't changed it yet. She will however sleep in a bed at mums so it's not a problem. I am just concerned about her getting in and out of it when she can't walk unaided yet!! She can climb pretty well so probably wouldn't be a problem. But we have to babyproof her room first and need to replace some bits in there which we don't have the money for right now so that is part of it!

just curious and hoping we are not the only ones with Chloe still in her cotbed!!

Samuel is still in his cotbed and I definitely have no plans to change that for a good while yet. Maybe I'll reassess when he turns 2 next year but I can imagine keeping him in his cotbed until this time next year TBH.

He sleeps so well but he also wriggles so much that I can't see the point in changing at the moment. Plus he happily plays with his cuddly toys in his cotbed for about 30 mins in the morning and I think we'd lose that extra bit of sleep if he could climb out of bed!

Evie's still in her cotbed too and we're in no rush to change it to a bed in the near future. She does sleep in a bed in the caravan though but can't climb out of it. We didn't move Joe til he was 2 and a half, just after we'd found out I was pg again.

Lucas went from cotbed to bed when he was 17 months. I wanted to do it after he could walk. I had to strap the furniture to the walls so he couldnt pull it over, put a bed gaurd on the bed (a must) and also a stairgate on his door.

There's no rush but it has worked well for us coz Lucas can get up and play without us having to get up in the morning or worry about him. His room does get a little messy but its only toys lol!

Let us know what you decide.

Sam has been in his bed since april but that was because he sleeps iin a bed at nursery so didnt want to confuse things. he sleeps fine in the bed but i think you just have to look at each child individually

Isla just went into her cot bed last week. We were pretty worried she would be in and out all the time but thank god she has not bothered in the slightest and slept through every night...now if we could just get her to eat...lol There is always something!

Grace has been in her bed for about 2 months now with no problems , for us it was the best thing to do cos she was black and blue of banging herself on the cot bars
