Subject : Good News!
I had my 1st scan on Wednesday (was a nervous emotional wreck!) and everything was perfect. My dates are spot on and I saw the little heartbeat! It was such a relief as in our last pregnancy there was always a discrepency with dates as they were measuring me 1 week and 3 days behind which never added up as we were using OPK's. I guess we should have realised sooner that our baby was struggling but tbh we were more relieved about seeing the heartbeat.
We're been scanned at on the 23rd when I'll be 9+2 so hopefully all will be ok then. Just need to get through the next few weeks and then we'll be passed the point of MMC and hopefully we'll be able to relax a little.
Symptoms are very strong now, much stronger than last time so seeing this as a good thing. I'm feeling very sick, so have to eat all the time to make it better. I actually vomited on wednesday night, not nice. I've got a very bloated tummy, all my trousers feel tight and my wrking uniform is getting too small. My boobs have gone up 2 cup sizes, are much fuller and are quite veiny now. I'm very tired and dizzy and I'm so thirsty!
I'm trying to stay positive as I know everything looks so good but it's not at all easy!

That's excellent news Gecko! I'm so glad that everything is so perfect and that you are feeling so positive about it all!
Hopefully this great news, and the way you are feeling will give you reassurance and help you relax a bit! Not long until you have another scan either!
Take care xxx

Hey C, Im just glad you're ok!!!! was really worried about you as its not like you to not post!!! How are you doing? sounds like the symptoms have been coming thick and fast! was it lovely to see bean???
Ive been feeling rough as, feeling sick around the clock...seem to go to loo every 30mins and 4 or more times during the night, been going to bed early every nite!!!!Im not seeing the midwife till Im 9 weeks, then hoping for a scan at 11 weeks, had a call from docs he wants me to go in this week, think its just to tell me he cant get me an early scan, why they cant tell me over the phone if that is the case, docs seem to think that none of their patients have serious jobs!!!!not sure if we will go for early scan or not, but can get a last min appt if we need 1 privately, just want to know that everything is ok, as still dont quite believe it, anyway Im babbling again! how has work been?
Hope your looking after yourself

I really hope it's good news with the doctor! All your symtoms sound really promising! I'm going to be seeing the Midwife at 10 weeks for my booking in appointment. It is supposed to be done at 8 weeks here but they gave me the choice about whether to have it before or after my next scan and I'd rather have it after. Just to be on the safe side. Seeing the HB was really amazing however she could get a very clear picture, will upload it later, just looks like a blob and a peanut. I'm just so relieved to know that Tinker is ok, just need to get past 9 weeks!
Work is finally ok, my very lovely Senior Staff Nurse has done my risk assessment, she laid down the law with mananagement and took the copy's of employment law I gave her with her. She keeps checking I'm ok, on very light duties and I'm finding it tough atm with the sickness and tiredness. Hopefully in the next 3-4 weeks I'll feel better when the placenta starts to take over.
Just had 2 bacon toasties mmm.... can't stop eating! Keeps the sickness away!
What are you up to this weekend? Hope you come into DIM soon, been saving a seat for you!

Hi C
Love the picture of Tinker, sounds good that its matching up with your dates, I know when we had the early scans the last time the dates were just not adding up, for someone not testing for ov etc I can understnad them being out but they shouldnt be too far out, I know the time it takes to implant can vary but should only e a matter of days, symptoms dont feel so strong this morning...but did fall a sleep at the dinner party last night! Great hostess! was just exhausted from cleaning house top to bottom and cooking a 3 course dinner! also cheated and used a wine glass fo my elderfolower water so that no one asked questions and just topped it up in the kitchen...much easier at your own house, going to move about to see how I feel and get the symptoms going again...
Glad work has been ok, and that you are getting the support from your colleagues, must be just 1.5 weeks to go till next scan, I am keeping everything crossed for you, but must put your mind at a tiny bit more ease because the dates are already in line with your dates
what are you up to today?

Hi Luc,
How very strange, my symptomes have eased today apart from the huge tummy and a craving for apple crumble which I'm going to bake in a bit! Next scan is in 12 days so a bit of a wait yet.
I've been working today, really hate working Sundays. How about you?

Hi Gecko,
Love the pic!!! They're just so amazing!!
I am ok thanks. Bean is fine and we are very happy to be in the second trimester (though I had ideas of all my anxiety vanishing overnight...doesn't happen!!). I am off work at the moment - had a horrid virus with high temperature etc last week. Am much better now, but feel totally exhausted and got a horrid cough. So a sofa day for me - not going back till I'm totally better or I'll only catch something else!!
So pleased that evereything is going so well for you honey, when is your next scan??
Love Kristen xx
