Subject : c-section question
Hi Ladies
Am currently 33+4 and our little boy is breech facing forward and measuring big, have to go back and see midwife in 2 weeks and if still the same she will refer me for a scan and then to see consultant. Was just wondering at what stage do they book you in for a c-sec, I would prefer him not to be turned as apparently i was tried to be turned 3 times and kept going back along with my two brothers and dont like the idea of it.
sorry if its a dull question, just wondering thats all.

I was booked in for when i was 39 weeks. He kept turning all the time and I was also told the risk of this was high if they tried to turn so agreed a date.
I ended up having the csection earlier as I was admitted earlier (in 38th week) with high blood pressure and they were quiet so he was born the next day
They say that it is less likely for baby to turn after a certain week (I think 36 but not 100%) but my lo disregarded that and kept dancing around in there!

hi, sorry to jump forum, i have come over from ttc and was just having a nosey!! My son was breech from 30 weeks and i also refused to have him turned. I felt very pressurised into having him turned and really had to stand my ground. Not because i wanted a c section (that was the last thing i wanted) but because it felt wrong. Anyway i was booked into to have my c section when i was 37 weeks and they delivered him at 39+ 3 weeks. It turned out i had a front facing placenta which would have caused a possible abruption if they had tried to turn him, so my instincts were right! However if you do have your baby turned they will scan you throughout the procedure so i guess they would have picked it up on the scan. Good luck

Hi Ladies
I also have an anterior placenta so maybe thats why my midwife seemed abit anti ecv anyway, am seeing her on friday so will find out. he's not turned yet as he keeps head butting my ribs, and kicking in the nether regions. but as long as he comes out safe and sound then i'm happy.

Hi, my first c-section was an emergency one (week 42) and my 2nd was elective and I had it at 37 weeks 6 days (I got the date through when I was 16 weeks pregnant which was brilliant cos I could plan ahead, and hubby took the day off work to 'go get the baby', as he so charmingly put it!).
