Well winter gang I have some good news...

I have written on quite a few posts on here that we have been concerned about our finances with me losing my job and deep down I have been really worried that I wouldn't be part of the winter gang at all if we couldn't manage financially...

Lastnight dh and I sat down and made a massive budget spreadsheet and planned everything out for the next 6 months. It took ages but we have made a plan and it looks like if we stick to it then everything will be ok. We've managed to juggle some stuff around and everything looks...dare I say it...positive.

We had a good chat about #3 and dh said he can't wait to get started...in fact we almost got carried and started lastnight;\) but we do need these few months to get prepared so December it is!!!

I'm so relieved and happy...

Woop woop!!

How are you all doing?!?

xxxxxx

thats great news that you can now look forward to planning #3 without trepidation. I'm doing great, we bought a car on Saturday as we didn't have one and when we were looking at it hubby lifted the boot and asked if I thought we would fit a pram in it..! he must be excited as he never really mentions future baby plans!

Aww Kaitelou thats great, the new car and your hubby's excitement!

Blokes can be weird about the baby plans...my dh has always been broody (as you can tell as we are planning number 3;\)) but I always feel like I want to talk about baby stuff all the time and he just gives me this look as if to say 'stop being so impatient' LOL! Lastnight though he started the baby talk. It's nice when it all comes together:D

Hi CC and everyone,

Well we too sat down and talked as money has been a major issue in us putting off 'going for it'!

I have worked out that to cover some bills whilst I am on maternity that we would need to save around 2-3k this is without money for pram, cot etc. If hubby stays in work and my work is ok then we are going to stick to the plan of Dec (hopefully beginning to mid)!!

We have talked baby names and everything and hubby too has said about getting a bigger car and also think now he realises his games room will soon be a nursery lol ha ha!! and it will be bye bye xbox and games room!! x

Hi all.

CC thas great that you and oh are feeling positive, after I move into this new (fingers crossed) house, I am also going to do a spreadsheet with oh to plan our finances. The only thing thats worrying me is that oh might want to put of ttc again until the house is done up :( . I hope not. I'll just need to remind him that it could take a while to fall pg and even then its another 9 months before baby arrives.

SD, at least losing the games room won't be so much of a shock to your hubby now you ahve talked about it, lol. If you manage to save the money needed for maternity leave thats fab, I wouldn't worry about the costs of cots etc, if you look around you can get bargains xx

Hi girlies, how are we all in the winter gang? am very bored at the moment and when i come on here there is hardly anyone on chatting or posting or I come on at the wrong time and everyone has been on.

So are we all planning and looking foward to xmas, we have told a few people we are going to start looking at having a baby next year so we are cutting back on xmas etc (I kinda cant keep stuff to myself) and hubby has been feeling a bit of pressure off the lads and has just told them 'soon'. However am not going to be bullied or peer pressured into having a baby and believe it will happen when its meant to happen but I cant deny that I am happy inside and want to scream that we are going to start trying in around 6 weeks time!!

I also cant believe that on 30th Oct we will have been married 5 months, I know to some its not a long time but we have been together 8 years in total in Nov.

So we are going to just casual ttc from dec onwards and then after xmas guns ablazing me thinks (depends how obsessed I get) ha ha!! Will be nice if we have some familiar faces move over to ttc at the same time and then we can look at starting a 'Sept Bug' thread of our own.

Anyway just wanted to post and see how you were all doing. xx

Hi SD and all,

How are we all doing?! OMG SD it really hit home to me then when you said 6 weeks!! wow! That has come round so quick! It's slightly longer for me I think- I will be due on around the 19th December if my cycles stay the same length (which is unlikely) and we will be starting after that...I think. Although with my broodiness growing every day it might be before that! Lol!

I enjoyed having some wine on my bday though and we have lots of nice stuff to look forward too- it'll come round in no time! I really love winter actually- when it starts getting all cosy and christmassy!

How is everyone else?

I'm so looking forward to christmas as it will be izzy's first. Plus then i know we can start ttc. I can't believe how quickly it's come round, but it just dawned on me that i will be pregnant for our holiday next year (hopefully) which means i can't drink or do certain activities :-( but i'm sure it will be worth it. Anyone else trying for their 2nd one, how big an age gap?

Hi Ladies,

Dappy and Poppy- welcome!! Dappy- I know what you mean about bad pregnancies-my first wasn't very good either- pre eclamptic symptoms from 26 weeks- in and out of hospital and finally induced at 38 weeks- my labour and birth wasn't good either but I don't like saying too much on here incase it scares people! Although I wanted to do it all again and now for a 3rd time so it hasn't put me off!LOL!
My 2nd pg was better, although I did have high bp again and pelvic problems as well. I am trying to get myself as fit and healthy as possible before we embark on number 3...although I have rubbish willpower so it's easier said than done. I'm sure we will have lovely pgs this time around.

Poppy-welcome to the forum!:\)It's great, everyone is very friendly.

Looks like it's going to be a very busy festive season for us all WinkSmile

Hi everyone, and hi to all the newbies.

Well I had a chat with my oh and it looks like I will be coming off the pill in January after we are hopefully settled into the new house, so there will be plenty of upsi for me in the new year. I have visions of dramatically throwing my pills in the bin on new years eve at 12 0'clock, lol.

I have started my xmas shopping already, dd is wanting the sylvanian family hotel, which I got from Argos, 20% off ;) I can't wait for christmas in our new house, so excited, although I'm not looking forward to pacing and unpacking, bleurgh!!

Don't worry ladies. You will all have fab pregnancies this time round .

SD I have noticed its been awful quiet on here recently too xx

Hi there

How great is this thread! It's lovely to find other ladies in the same boat as me. We are going to start trying in December, for our first baby. I am 32 and hubby is 33. Having spent most of my adult life avoiding children I became an infant teacher a couple of years ago and am now sooooooooooo broody it is unbelievable!

I am putting on an outward show of casualness but I am so not casual about it! I had a mc at the end of September and would love to end 2009 on a high. I am armed with a cbfm and preseed and have warned hubby that he won;t be going to any Christmas parties during December - he'll be far too busy!

I always find that the best way to get Christmas to arrive quickly is to ignore that is it round the corner, so to make the time go faster perhaps we should all whistle a casual tune and pretend we can't see December peeking round the corner!Smile

xxSara

Hello Ladies!

moonandstars-Welcome hunny. I am so sorry to hear about your mc, that must have been very hard.

It's nice to know being an infant teacher has made you broody and not had the opposite effect Wink seriously though that must be a wonderful job...my son is not far off 4 now and is in pre school...it's such a lovely age. Good news about the CBFM- they sound great, i've read how successful they are on BE loads of times so fingers crossed for a speedy BFP!

I think you are so right about Christmas!! Perhaps we need to whistle casual summery tunes like 'club tropicana' so we aren't in the mood for christmas until it's right upon us!Happy

Hi ladies, hope you don't mind me joining you, i posted a couple of times in planning, when to start ttc and dh and I were thinking possibly next year, anyway we decided last weekend that I would stop my pill, so here we are on cd3, although not actively trying until december we're just going to see how it goes.
Charlie-chalk, it's good to see you also planning for dec (don't know if you really remember me, but from Worcs and already have a 4 and 2 year old, you gave me some good advise here in planning - and so here I am, lol!) looking forward to lots of xmas and new year BFP's and moving over to pregnancy with you all, and in my family nearly everyone has been born in september/october (have large family and practically 1 birthday a day from mid sept - end oct!) so dec/jan must be very good months to conceive in, must be all the xmas cheer, that or the cold january nights! LOL!

mustbmad! Of course I remember you hunny! Glad you are in the winter gang too!Happy It sounds like its a good time of year for your family and hopefully that will bring you loads of luck!

It's very exciting that you have stopped your pill..all makes it seem more real doesn't it?

I'm so excited that we are planning number 3...do you ever worry about 'outnumbering' you and your oh though? The reason I ask is I was trying to bath my two on my own this morning- we normal do it in the evening, me and dh, but it couldn't wait until this evening because my dd spilt apple juice in her hair! So, I bathed them on my own and it was difficult!! Makes me wonder what it will be like if we are constantly out numbered!! Lol! I'm sure we will cope!Happy

Hello again everyone - good to see more people joining us!

Charlie-chalk I love working with little kiddies although teaching has far too muck paperwork for my liking! I never really thought I would be a teacher - I kind of fell in to it really, but it's been a good decision.

I was in the supermarket today and they had buy one get one free on huge tins of chocolates. I thought "ooo, that's good that will save me money at Chrimbo", but then I thought "NO! If I DON'T buy them I won;t be ready and then Chrimbo will be here quicker!"

So December will definitely be here quickly now! LOL!
