Subject : The Pop-in Nappy

Has anyone used this? I bought a trial one today in Waitrose and it seems lovely, really soft - even the waterproof outer shell is soft and the colours are gorgeous. Anyway, i was wondering if anyone has tried the microfibre one which is new, as opposed to the original bamboo one and what the opinion is?

I might order a trial of the microfibre to compare. If anyone knows any pros / cons let me know.

Also, I see that the cost from Babipur is fantastic value. If anyone has any further discount codes for this website, please share!!

Thanks xxxx

not got any discount codes, and havnt used the microfibre one, but we have the origional bamboo ones and absolutely LOVE them, we have been using them for about 6 months now, and are really pleased, couldnt reccomend them enough.

I think the microfibre may better if you havn't got a tumble drier (although we dont either, and still managed fine with 20 bamboo nappies full time use although drying time for the inners was quite long so was a bit diffiuclt in first few weeks when DD was weeing and pooping loads!) and now my DD is 6 months we dont use as many so no probs drying etc. - although if i were to top up it would be with the pop in microfibre!

I think the bamboo ones are more absorbent than the microfibre - so not sure if either you may have to change the nappy more often, or if they might be a bit bulkier - but im not 100% sure on this, so hopefully someone else can help you out! Or you could email babipur maybe and ask if they know?

xxxx

We've got the bamboo ones too. I bought ours as an overnight nappy as I generally use the bumgenius for daytime but they weren't lasting overnight.

I did look at the microfibre ones and there didn't really seem to be any difference between them to look at.

Yes, they are different brands buy microfibre is not supposed to be quite as absorbant as bamboo (yet my BG's will still last 3-4 hours depending on the time of day) and they do dry a lot quicker than the bamboo. I tend to find that even with my tumble dryer I still have to hang the bamboo bits out for an extra hour or so compared to the microfibre ones (think this is due to our TD as it stops drying once not getting sufficient water out, so the amount from 3 bamboo nappies wouldn't be enough to warrant the cycle continuing).

Realistically I think it's personal preference. Microfibre are good for day use but if you happen to have a heavy wetter then it's good to have a few bamboo ones for night time.

My only slight complaint with the pop in is that DH finds them very difficult to get on for overnight use with all the inserts. Even I find it a struggle at times as there are so many layers and there aren't sufficient snaps to snap all the layers together. This adds to the fun of getting it on a wriggly older baby as they tend to move and pull the night booster away from the rest of the nappy so you have to get insert and baby 're-alligned' to get it on.

Another store to check out is www.thecottonnappycompany.co.uk who often have good deals on the pop ins, and other brands.
