Subject : working/child tax credits

Hi,

Does anyone know when you should apply for these? Do you have to wait until the baby is born? Surely once the baby is born you will already be on maternity leave and need the money and I expect it takes a while to sort out??

Thanks

hi hun

yeah you can trey to claim working tax before but if you earn over 15000k (joint) you wont get anything.

once baby is here you firstly register the baby and then you will need to send off the babys birth certificate to the child benefit office once they have excepted your claim on the system you can claim child tax credit because proof of your babys birth will be registered with the childbenefit office.

It can take a while but it is all back dated (I know it doesnt help, but unfortunalty thats how they work)
