Subject : birthday time......!!!

hello everyone my name is gemma im 24 and im new to this forum (i sooo wish i had found it while i was pregnant but beter late than never!!) anyway i had my little girl (eventually after a marathon 57hour labour ending in an emergency c section) on 1st october 2007 at 14:45, so in exactly 18days thats a whole 2 years ago!!!!! my has the time flown and i have loved every minute of being a mummy to my beautiful little girl Isabelle. from the breastfeeding to the sleepless night with teething to the first steps first words and her cheeky smile at my bedside in the mornings now she is in a big girl bed... just potty training to go and any signs of my "baby" have completely gone and here is my amazing, beautiful, intelligent, fully blossoming "little girl"

Anyway with birthday time coming up i tend to get all emotional and nostalgic! (this time last year i was an absolute wreck!! haha) but very excited!! we have got her a big trampoline for the garden which we are putting up the day before (fingers crossed all the pieces are there!) and we are going to put a big bow on it with some balloons so she can see it in the morning of her birthday! and then will go shopping for a few little gifts to open in the morning. We are spreading the occasion over a few days having the family round as and when they can on the day then the zoo the day after and finally her party with all her little friends on the sunday!! i cannot wait!! im bursting with excitement!! haha!! she didnt really know what it was all about last year (athough she was a fanastic little social bee and had no trouble getting into presents and eating cake!!) but this year she has been to parties and loved them and now its her turn for the lime light (not that she doesnt have the limelight every day but you know what i mean)

Anyway i was just wondering what other people are doing? how are you feeling at your little one turning 2? any ideas for games at the party for 2-4years olds (pass the parcel is the only one i can think of so far!)

i just wanted to share my experience so sorry for the ramble but like i say i have missed out on this forum so im catching up now!!! i would love to hear your stories ladies and happy birthday to all those little ones turning 2!!! i hope you all have a geat time!! xxx

I was just thinking about this the other day LOL! , my lo will be 2 on October 8th i wanted to have a party for him at Playtowers (Big soft play thing with slides n climbing bits) but due to having to send my OH to south africa in July to see his dad (who was poorly) its kinda messed up our finances for a little bit so im not 100% on what we're going to do we're not going to do nothing for him tho, i wanna get him a trampoline too he loves to bounce(especially on our bed lol) so i know he'd love it, plus i will 36 week pregnant with twins then too so everybody else will have to do the running about by then, i know what ever we decide to do for him he'll love, even if it was just to the park lol, but i wanna do more than that tho x
im starting to get bit emtional that he's going to be 2 soon cuz i still call him my baby n i know he always will be but he's not really a baby anymore Frown he talks to me and wants to show me things and is such a little charactor with a huge personality he's grown soooo quick, and always has a BIG smile which can brighten up anybodies day (hate to think what im gonna be like when he starts school lol)

Lexie will be 2 on the 16th its flew by shes got her two year check up tomorrow.we have got her a wooden dolls house for her birthday will probably get her something else too not sure what yet.Her god father has got her a trampoline for the garden one for age 3+ so quite a small one with the safety net round it im sure she will love it.My little girl(big girl)is amazing im so proud of her and how she has adjusted since becoming a big sister in march she loves having a little sister, shes potty trained talks non stop and if we try to tell her shes doing something naughty she turns round and says its funny we say no naughty she says again funny and we all end up laughing its great. We have 3 cats from before having her so they are pretty scared of her so we got her a kitten in aug and she loves her and is so gentle with her and the others have now seen what shes like with the kitten and let her stroke them now lol.its amazing to look at her and see her growing up so fast i wish i could press pause! Anyway Happy Birthday to all the October toddlers hope they have a great birthday.
i hardly ever come on oct 07 as noone is ever here usually in toddler or baby now.take care:)

Yup my Emily will be 2 on the 20th, seems impossible that I had her nearly 2 years ago at this point I was 2 days overdue and getting irritable lol. But we're just going to have a quiet one for her but she's got loadsa pressies to come so I'm told! cos we've bought her a table and chair set now she's got a little bit too big for her highchair, also DD3 is going to need the HC soon, she loves In The Night Garden so we've bought her the bed spread, and 2 set of PJ's. My parents have bought her a load of ITNG toys too and her great grandparents/Aunty have bought her clothes. Oh and my parents are getting her a b-day cake too. But she's such a smart and clever lil thing and I couldn't be prouder of her!

Freya was 2 on the 19th. But because of dilemas we decided to go on holiday. I moved a year ago and people were expecting me to go back home for her birthday, Plus my hubby was 40 on the 20th so to make life easier we went away. Freya loved opening all her pressies on her b'day. My Mum came up earlier in the month so she had a bit of a birthday then. FIL was only 45 mins away from where we went away so he came up with BIL on the 20th so she had more present then.

Freya is coming along in leaps and bounds. She got over her jealously of her little sister about 3 months ago (Erin is 6 months) and is a loving big sister. Is can't wait for Erin to be able to play and she helps me with everything. From nappy changes to feeding to cuddles when she is crying. She didn't start walking untill she was 22 months but no she will walks anywhere and for miles. It's a fight to get her in the pushchair lol. Her speech is coming along nicely. She has her own little language so sometimes it takes me a while to work out what she wants but 'normal' words are becoming more and more every day. She has just started to come out with 3 word sentences. She loves drawing and books and can reconise the word ball. She can also count to 4 in English and 3 in welsh (we don't speek Welsh).

Any of your littlens had there 2 year check?? Freya hasn't even recieved an appointment for here,

Kerry, Freya and Erin

Hey Kerry, you should hear Emily at times the stuff that comes outta her mouth has to be heard to be believed! hahaha. but she's coming along so great, she can count to 3 when she wants too, just be glad when she gets old enough to start potty training, she keeps suffering nappy rash so badly poor little lamb and gotta get rid of her dummy too but one thing at a time Happy
Not heard anything from my HV about a 2yr check was sent some stuff in the post from the HV office "Now I Am 2" which is a leaflet saying what they should be doing now but that's it. Looks like they don't do the 2yr check anymore(actually wouldn't surprise me probably lack of funds in the NHS to do so)

They do the 2 year check here. My HV said that they are running 4 months behind and they do it to see if there is any problem that could be correct or supported before they start school.

I tried potty training as she was showing signs of being ready (telling me when she was wet. Sitting on the potty) But when I tried she scard herself silly when she had an accident. So I'm gonna leave it untill hubby has leave in December and try again. That way she has had a good 5 month break. If not I'll leave it another 2-3 months and try again. I'll be glad when she's potty trained as nappies are so expencive. Especially buying for 2 children lol.
