Subject : double buggy- Phil and teds- worth it or rip off?
Hi All- I have a little boy just over 2 and another baby due in 3 weeks. I cannot rely on my little lad to behave on a buggy board as restraints at some point would be needed and we will be going out and about quite a bit when this one arrives so he would get quite tired. A friend has recommended phil and teds sport and I just wanted to hear from anyone who has experience of this or any similar. The OH is not a fan of the side by side style so it does need to be something quite sturdy but compact. Thanks for your views either way!

Hi Abbie, we have a Phil and Teds Sport and it's great. It's as easy as a single to get round shops with, and I can push it single-handed round Tesco whilst holding a basket, which is v handy! I would recommend getting the pannier bags to strap to the sides - they're nice and spacious, which is good because if you put the raincover in the shopping basket there's no room for anything else. Also, when the youngest child sits up their feet go in the shopping basket. I haven't found it a problem though as the bags are really good. We tried our oldest son in some side by side pushchairs on the shops, and he was quite squashed as the seats were pretty narrow. Also, the tandem models were no good to us as he's tall so he was up to the top weight limit already! Please ask me any other questions you want to, I know how important it is to get your choice right! xx

Thats great thanks Niblet! How old are your 2? My little boy is just over 2 and we had the same problem trying the other ones out- he looked like he was squashed or far too tall in all the others. Is the sport the one that folds down when being used as a double or do you have to take the wheels off (sure I read that somewhere)? What age do you think you used it for your youngest in the sitting position?

I have Jacob who's 2 years 4 months, and Noah who's 6 1/2 months. You can keep the wheels on the Sport when you fold it, and you can keep the doubles kit (the extra seat) on it to fold it when the baby is lying flat, but not when the baby moves on to sitting up. That isn't a problem at all though, as the seat is really simple to just click on and off. They say to have the baby sitting up from 6 months, but basically it's whenever they can sit with sufficient stability, and Noah's been in the seat from 5 1/2 months with no problems. Ooh, congratulations on your pregnancy, sorry I meant to say that before! Not long to go now, exciting! x

I also have the phil and teds and i LOVE it, couldnt be without it. My 2 are 21months and almost 17weeks and ive not a bad word to say about it. its really easy to get around (easier than my graco single) and to fold down. the wheels can come off to make it fit in a small boots easier, but ive never had to do that as it folds reasonably small anyway.
I hope your lo comes soon and doesnt make a late appearance xxx

so glad ther are positive things about this im looking at it to josh is 16 months and lo will be here in feb and as i dont drive its such a good option for me who lives on public transport!!
the only thing is i worry about pushing two kids around and it being heavy to push i had to put josh in a stroller from my travell system as i struggled to push him in that !! but love the idea that it can go back to a single for hen josh is able to walk
i have also seen one yesterday with a buggy bored on the back so good to know thats an option to !!
just need to decide what colour !!
