Subject : Does TTC for no 2 always take longer

Hi everyone

We're currently TTC no 2 but only on the first proper month of trying. Most posts that I've read so far say that the second time round it has or is taking longer.

Just wondered if anyone conceived no 2 as quick or quicker than the first. I'm trying to get it in to my head that it will take longer but it's really hard when it only took 1 month first time.

Thanks

Julie x

Hi, it did take us a little bit longer - took 1 month with first, and 4 months with second, so not too bad. I hope you get your BFP v soon! Happy xx

It took us 1 month with the first and 7 with number 2 which I found very hard. I knew it might take longer 2nd time but didn't quite believe it until the months started clocking up. I think the fact that you already have a child to look after really takes the romance out of it and gives you far less opportunity!!

Hi

It certainly didn't take us longer... when trying for DS we had Clomid as I suffer with PCOS so it took us in total two years to have him; however, baby No2, which I am currently pg with was concieved 1st time of BD after having DS in February.

My specialist told me that once you have had one baby your fertility increases, which has certainly be the case for me. Whether he meant that was the case for me due to my PCOS or not I honestly cannot say....

Good luck TTC, I hope you get your BFP very soon xx

Our second was a surprise - thought we'd avoided the fertile window but clearly not! So no, it didn't take longer for us.
