One of the best things for them to help to stop them getting bigger is to lie with your feet higher than your head, if its ideal can you lie on the ground and out your feet on the sofa?
I dont know if the support stockings stop them getting any bigger, I would ask your midwife next time you are with her.

I am not sure there is much you can do about spider veins, I have them in the same place, but for some reason have had them for years. Did ask a doctor about them once and they just said it was probabyl because I cross my legs a lot - because that is where they are.

I've not done it myself, but, i did read somewhere that vitamin k cream is very good at making them go away, but not sure if that is something you can use in pregnancy. One of the best things I find is some sun on my legs, or even a dousing of fake tan takes away their appearance.
Glad this pregnancy lark eh!

LOL Emma I know what you mean, I have had 3 different midwives already, apparently here you just get whoever is available and they all have different advice although the one I had last week was lovely so I am kind of hoping I get her next time as well.

bl++dy hell mrs ikea, cant believe how your consultant appointment went!

I just got mine from the chemist, had to order some black ones as didnt like the white ones, so now it just looks like im wearing tights under my trousers, as the weather has been bad they havent even been a bit uncomfortable. also stops your ankles from swelling

wow Emma that was a pretty awful experience!!! Do they not think that these are all things that we should know.
34 weeks!!!! For the scan, thats so late you think that the would scan you a few times just to keep an eye on everything, I have been booked for a scan at 34 weeks but its just one final check up before I give birth!!

Hi there,

Just to say, as a VV sufferer long before I was pregnant (you can imagine what they are like now) I can recommend the following support tights:

Elbeo supreme compression: very good, although pretty strong if you have not worn suppport tights before

There is also a brand called Activa - very high levels of compression so worth running it past your MW before you buy them as they are £20ish.

I had surgery on mine so time ago, had them pulled and the veins in my groin cut...still came back though!

Good luck

xx
